Qatar's Supreme Council of Health has announced that salaries of its non-Qatari employees will be reduced by 10% to 50% once their job contracts expire, the Peninsula has reported. The move is part of a massive overhaul of the Council which is to be completed by June-end. SCH currently has 1,280 employees, 508 of whom are expatriates.

I heard that a specialist who is currently working in Saudi has been offered 75,000 QR per month by HMC.

This country is a JOKE!! Get your prioities right Qatar, there is a shortage of qualified doc's and specialists now, and you go and reduce salaries for the expats by 10-50%...good luck in trying to recruit....

Healthcare sector is one of the highly paid sector in many countires...we can expect Monkeys now...

Now , that would improve the health sector here!!!

i wonder how will HMC maintain their JCI?

There have been many local complains about how HMC has shortage of proffisional consultants recently. And how it's nearly impossible to get appointments with the very few left.

Even many Qatari specialists/consultants no longer work at HMC and now work at private clinics, ASPETAR , SIDRA or run thier own practice

probably they are trying to uniform SCH salary and NHA...NHA pay is in par or more than many other Govt Organizations.

I guess, as per this council's understanding, Expatriates are supposed to work for a sum that could only afford them Food, Cloth & Shelter...! any comfort or lavish living only a Qatari deserves, regardless he/she works or not.

JUST IMAGINE...upto 50% ????!!!
