Hi, it is norm to see women who don't do any out side job, staying home & looking after family always describe there profession as "house wife". I find it a bit discriminatory to the dignity of woman hood. Can't it be universally termed as " Home Duty"?
Any suggestion ?
it's just the way they translated from arabic into english.. so what? does it change your wife's personality/status/value? they translate things the way the want..
once I have seen in the restaurant's Menu a dish named "pregnant chicken"...( I even asked the waiter, "does this chicken come alone with the unborn baby?")... so what? does this name really make her pregnant?? :):)
Most women becomes a house wife after they got married or when duties at home is much more needed but in my opinion an ideal profession for women would be interior design. There's something about it that is appealing or maybe it's just a fetish. Haha
There is already a profession getting into common use named "Homemaker" for women who don't do any out side job. If this does not sound good to you choose any or all of the following...

How is being a "housewife" "discriminatory" to the "dignity" of woman?
I believe it's the most important "profession" in the world. We don't get paid in terms of "economic" values, but it has it's precious rewards.
"House Wife" includes numerous professions. Be proud to be one.
Useless idea
The new name is "Home maker" - Not Housewife.
