Princess Diana Death Crash Christmas Wrapping Paper Goes On Sale In Harrods (a bit of satirical fun!)
.
.
With only 38 shopping days left until Christmas, Harrod's today decided it was finally time to unveil the new range of commemorative Princess Diana Christmas wrapping papers.
The idea was the work of alternative artist Ernest Buckle, and was commissioned by Mohammed al-Fayed, the Harrod's boss, who still can't get a British passport.
Mr al-Fayed claimed he was "determined to wring something out of the fiasco", and said it might as well be money. The unhappy mogul, whose son also perished in the murder, feels permanently hard-done-by, and always looks miserable.
Shoppers queued for hours to secure their luxury wrappings, which, because of the demand, were limited to 200 rolls per customer. There are eight different designs, including one of the stricken princess as she lies waiting for medical help to arrive, and another depicting her being lifted into an ambulance. Another simply shows a smashed-up Mercedes.
An early favourite though, seemed to be the deluxe editions in which she can be seen leaving the gym chased by paparazzi, and a family portrait which shows Prince Charles, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh with nooses around their necks.
Customer Mavis Grimshaw, 98, from Leeds, said:
"Ooh she were a luvly lass! Allus in me thoughts, so I thought I'd buy me sen a couple o' dozen rolls to wrap grandbains presents up in!"
Another lady, Violet Openshaw, 78, from Birmingham, spoke of Princess Diana's tireless work ethic when she said:
"Aww, bless 'er! She never stopped digging them landmines up. She did it with 'er bare 'ands, y'know!"
The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
There was another Spoof story which made me smile, but the humour in that one definitely WOULDN'T have travelled well! Would never even have got as far as packing a bag :P
'Harry a threat to endangered species' is more my taste.
ummmm, it's sad, simply but nothing rather than sadness and probably wonder. her tragic death has influenced many lives in UK, in many, many several different ways..
Theyve totally missed the point. Its a shame though because the humour in it was very good.
Some humour just doesnt travel......
No need to apologise to me, i thought it was good. I just knew it wouldnt 'reach' everyone.

Frog I totally second you on that...well said
But, to be honest, I think the satire will be lost on most - shame really cos it amused ME (doesn't take much) and I guess it's really taking the wee wee out of people who would buy anything if it has a connection with their idol, Saint Di, dead or alive and also having a bit of a dig about Al-Fayed's paranoia that it was murder most horrid and instigated by the Duke of E'boro, and that if he could profit out of it he would - a 'buck's a buck' and all that!
I particularly like the bit about: "a family portrait which shows Prince Charles, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh with nooses around their necks."
I think this might pass over alot of peoples heads.......
""Ooh she were a luvly lass! Allus in me thoughts, so I thought I'd buy me sen a couple o' dozen rolls to wrap grandbains presents up in!"
That could quite easily sound like my parents. lol

hummm I feel like this will be a ladies thread :D Anyway, what people would not do so as to get more money. So many "Dianas" are dying everyday in the driest parts of Africa, but who cares ?
Some are Wise ... Some are ...Otherwise
wonder if i would be delighted to receive a present, wrapped in this...
i still remember when i was young, going thru flipping pages of Princess Diana's pic and idealistic story (back then)....i looked up to her, somehow fixated with her love story (you could imagine me being sad when her marriage was stirred with controversies and eventually her death)...up to now still interested reading her bios...
Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.
