I grew up in Qatar... this place was my world.. u kno.. :D everything that i kno or did or enjoyed was in Qatar.... but the sad fact is... tht now im too old to be sponsored by my dad and its become extreamly difficult to get a good job,( partly due to Qatarisation) ill hav to leave this place fr good!!.. and what am i supposed to do elsewhere?? cause this place was all that i kno....

So its my opinion tht children who grew up in qatar should be given certain previleges r given the choice to continue here... They r not much different from the Qatari children who grew up here...

What do u guyz think??

@sonia: haha.. well.. thts xacty wt im gonna do... mostly cause thts the only thing i can do..

Mafi faida man. Do you know how many kids I have who were born and brought up here. Now all of them are in India. This is a foreign country for us and we are all expatriates irrespective of the place of birth. We are not entittled for any extra benefits or facilities for the reason that we are born and brought up here.

thomasii, as per your profile on QL, you haven't yet lost much..You can still rethink for locating back to your country..

thomasii, your parents should have realised the situation earlier and made you well acquainted with your home country well in advance to prepare you for the transition.

Good luck for your further journey. Hope you adjust fast and well back home or get some job for yourself here.

Well said about 1000 reasons to kick anyone out from here..:P

If you know all these, why do u expect even a BIT LENIENCY??

If you are qualified enough, you can do a lot good back to your home country too..

This is what the irony with most of the kids who born and brought up in GCC COUNTRIES...

Some are lucky to get the good jobs in govt.sector while some not..

As one said above, GCC countries are not for LONG TERM STAY..One has to move out from here sooner or later..Better realise this situation in advance..

My baby too born in DOHA but it doesn't mean that i will allow her to give the feelings to her that she has every right to get the preveilage being born here..

we have to pack our BAGS one day and will move out from here..

We do not ask for nationality... all we ask for is a lil bit of consideration!!... we ended up here cause our parents worked for some company in Qatar, so basically... wht they cld atleast do is create a quota fr ppl like us to stay nd work in qatar.. :)

suppose if all were given nationality who born and brought-up over here... then there will be no fear of punishment and deportation... most of u will get involved in illegal activities... people will fight with each other, and there will be no respect and values for the locals...! Foreigners should not be given nationality ever!!

It's a sad thing for sure coz you will be eaten up by the Indian kids your age back home :-(

That's why stay here for a short period only, collect some experience or money whichever you are here for and then go back to the place where we belong. Long term stay here is not the way.

can't be applied where expatriates constitute 2/3 of the society. Simply can't work

Sad this is the story of all who were born here. If in Europe or any other country automatically will get the passport.

Enroll yourself for some kind of 5-6 months course and in the meanwhile try to search for a small job in sales or marketing..

There can be 100 of ways to stay back over here..
