, "we reported on the creation of a new public holiday to be celebrated henceforth in Qatar, every year, on December 18. At the time, there were some doubts as to what would happen to September 3, a public holiday that was also meant to embody the National Day. It has now been confirmed that in compensation for the new public holiday on December 18, the day of September 3, starting in 2007, will no longer be a public holiday in Qatar."

it's probably only government employees that get the hol. Accession Day was listed as a public holiday too, recently, and it wasn't a general holiday for the hoy paloy!

Are you sure. I told my company to declare 03 Sep is a holiday and it is on the qatar holiday list 2007 published by the government. Already purchased a ticket for a short holiday. don't get me worried

public holidays on 2 Eids 3 day each

and 18 December i guess which used to be 3rd sept but now cancelled no more holidays on 3rd sept.
