Pinay is oldest staff in Saudi hospital

At first glance, you might think you are seeing the living Mother Theresa. Everybody in the hospital where she works for calls her “Mommy Concha”.

Concha Paras, or Mommy Concha as she is fondly called, is a native of the island of Mindoro. At 73, she is a single mother of 4 who decided to try her luck to work abroad 28 years ago to support her children.

She started as a housekeeper at the Bugshan Hospital in Jeddah. After completing the probationary period of 3 months, she was promoted to assistant nurse.

Through the years, Mommy Concha has gained the trust and respect of not only the people who employed her, but also those around her.

She treats everybody as If they are her sons and daughters. It’s probably her holistic approach that makes her loved by many.

Currently, Mommy Concha still works as a medical staff at Bugshan Hospital. She is considered as one of the pioneers in the hospital because she was hired while the institution was just a few yeas old.

Am I the only one feeling sorry for her ?

Why has she had to work for 28 years to support her children. They should be old enough to fend for themselves , shouldn't they ?

Tinkerbell, life is not just about earning money and pay back the kindness of your foreign employer as reason for staying longer away from your real family. At her age of 73, do you think she will live more than another 10 years healthy? Let us be real in life, my comment is just an honest opinion but not condemning anyone just like Mother Concha. My heart belongs to this woman who work and toil for the rest of her life just to support her family....Now is the time for her to take rest and enjoy while she is in capable to do so.

28 years ago, how would he even know the real Philippines then. Me, I can tell you, Philippines 28 years ago is very fine. Others just want more.

This great lady left our country when she is already 45 years old for whatever noble reason.

But khokoys comment is unwanted in this thread!

some people who works in a foreign contry (most of them working for a very long time) do not work for the money alone. those who were blessed to find a good employer wants to give back the kindness they showed them and the love for their job, like Mommy Concha.

tinker, the question is "is she doing it for her own happiness?" or "is she continuing for her financial needs?". I sincerely hope its the first one.

AS I thought ... Bugshan is one of the oldest hospitals in Jeddah. It can't have been more than a year old when she joined :o)

So sad on the other side, at 73 age she should enjoy the rest of her life together with grandchildrens. She deserves to be cherish and love for her hard labor just to support her family in the philippines.
