I was searching through internet and i found: http://www.qataranimalwelfare.org at this site we can find information of how we can help the animals that these people are housing, how we can adopt one (or more), find out about lost animals, put our ad etc. People that love animals might find it interesting.

we shouldnt let this thing happen i mean leave this organisation to close. I will send them an email asking about that issue then we might know exactly what we should do for them in order for them to continue their great work!

I visited the QAWS website..after reading your post, I was just thinking of joining when I am in qatar to volunteer...its very sad indeed if the welfare is closed down or operations affected due to financial crisis :( :(

pls pls everyone, if anyone out there hear the pleas of those poor innocent animals...give a helping hand (small contributions) to help the shelter and keep it running.

cant anyone in the newspapers highlight their poor situation? be kind to all creatures....

salam...

Hi Suzanne

The article I did was printed at the beginning of September, in the Qatar Tribune.

Could you do me a favour? Please could you send me Janet's number again, I had a virus in my contact list and lost lots of numbers, hers was one of them. We have newspapers by the dozen piling up here and I wanted to give them to her for the animals.

Thanks.

Heard today that QAWS is closing - and they will have to put down the animals - all very sad as Doha really needs an organisation like QAWS. saying a prayer for all those animals.

I took a kitten from there 2 days ago. I deeply appreciated the fact that they don’t do euthanasia to animals if nobody takes them. I also impressed from the fact that the place was tidy and clean. I only gave them 150 QR as I didn’t have more with me that time. I really want to help them and I will definitely visit them again. I haven’t talked with Janet as she was ill and wasn’t there but I called her and I will have a chat with her soon. I have informed as many friends as I could about this place.

PS Xena, for which newspaper are you talking about?

I am on the understanding that this organisation are in a severe state of desparation for more cash. If anyone knows someone who will inject a sizeable amount of money I suggest you contact them. We need to think of the animals as they cannot talk for themselves.

Hi Suzanna

Thanks for the post, but most of us here on QL are aware of this organisation. I myself have done a report on them for our Newspaper.

It is a wonderful site to browse, but more than that, it is appreciated if people would go down to the QAWS sanctuary and give some time to the animals there. I know that Janet will appreciate the time you give.....
