Pearl Registration and Legal Advice

I just got off the phone with one of the developers at the Pearl and have been informed that I can proceed with the handover of the apartment but that details are not available with regards to registration of the apartment. I know transparency in relation to real estate for foreigners is still somewhat lacking but am unsure why I can't register just yet, particularly since I am keen on leasing the apartment immediately thereafter but am now unsure if I can do this without first registering the apartment legally in my name.

I searched the web for more information and learned of the registration fee (0.25% of purchase price) and figured that it would be a straightforward process but with the developer's call I am not so certain anymore.

Has anyone else been contacted by the developer and is preparing for the handover or already completed the process? I understand the 1st tenants are preparing to move in shortly (May/June) and perhaps can provide some steer.

Are there real estate lawyers that specialize in this that anyone can refer? The law firms I have contacted specialize in commercial law and could not assist...I reside in Dubai and plan on going to Doha in the 1st week of May to finalize so it would be great if anyone can assist.

Thanks in advance...

I think this statement is 100% correct. I can't answer your question sorry but buying here is a huge gamble when you are not sure of your rights. Probably better off going to the casino and put 2 million riyal on red...
