yes, I was in Germany and it is the same than in Spain (I guess the same in all western Europe) - it was shocking to me too when I saw the pipes in Qatar exposed to the sun...
eu, the tap water in Germany is fuc*ing cold. I guess 7 to 10 degrees. The water supplies run at least 1.50 meters (if not more) below the surface in the earth. There are no free hanging electrical or sanitary tubes and hoses. It is simply not allowed. It was the first time in Qatar that I saw hoses and tubes on the walls instead of in the walls. (In Spain they have that, too).
QT, yes, because it is not stored in tanks on the rooftops. It is pressurized all the way from the plant to your kitchen tap. It is approved for babies' consumption.
are heineken in cans german made? i had 3 cases in stock (now all gone kaput). theyre okay (smb light taste better though) but i guess the ones in germany would taste much much better.
true, nomad, but when you open the bottle in Doha the wine reacts chemically with the air of Doha. So what you really need is an airtight drinking chamber filled with parisienne air.
eu, it's not claustrophobic if you have a windsurfer or a boat, and there is no such male to female ratio as here in Doha. So, what you're talking about?
nomad, I noticed that, too. I drank Malvasia in Lanzarote and took some bottles home to Germany. In Lanzarote the air, the temperature, the ambience made it taste beautiful, in Germany it tasted like sh*t. So, why the difference?
what about this, red wine in paris taste really sweet but the ones purchased in qdc doesnt taste as good and im talking about the same brand of wine. fake? uhmmmm.

Well that's probably a good sign they came from Spain then!
I was just pointing out that a Valencia orange doesn't necessarily come from Spain.
... but it was labeled as "FROM Valencia (Spain)"
War looking for peace,

.... gas is cheaper compare to bottled water.
Valencia is just the name of the orange, not where they come from.

QT, I was fed with it and so were my children. When we came to Qatar we switched to bottled water. Very unusual at first.

What? Even for babies? It must be top notch tap water then!
:P
Depends... drinking tap hot water can cause stomachal problem...
(lol)

C'mon, nomad, beer is more expensive and petrol is more expensive.
QT, yes, because it is not stored in tanks on the rooftops. It is pressurized all the way from the plant to your kitchen tap. It is approved for babies' consumption.
wait a minute here, rather water is more expensive than beer (in germany)is what i was trying to say.. is it?
Is the tap water safe to drink in Germany?
lol
water is cheaper than beer and petrol in Germany!
someone said that water is cheaper than beer in germany. is it true?
They don't have many German beers at QDC. I think the Germans drink their beer themselves.
Heineken is Dutch, my friend.
are heineken in cans german made? i had 3 cases in stock (now all gone kaput). theyre okay (smb light taste better though) but i guess the ones in germany would taste much much better.
I took a flier from Ramada two nights ago where they announced an Oktoberfest night.

... I saw the product one time...
"Spanish air and sun canned" - it was in Benidorm or a place like this (lol). I have to admit that was an original idea.

OK, nomad. By the way, the Octoberfest in Munich has just begun. I bet the beer there tastes different, too.
i will i will md...just bring the wine, Malvasia is it?
hope you invite me then, nomad.
md, you're a genius. if i win the 1M jackpot at the airport im gonna build me one...the parisienne air? that would be next.
eu, maybe the Spanish oranges are imported from Florida (used to be Spanish some time ago)?

1) dealers are greedier in Spain than in Doha. So the spanish profits are greater than travel plus qatari profits - I bet for this one.
2) Chinese oranges as MD said. Could be, could be...

its not joke. There are special cases for wine.
Cannot be very cold, cannot be warm...
you must hold the wine for days after a trip to avoid the movement of the bottle to change the taste.
It is absolutely an art...

but md, the wine's supposed to be made in france (packed and all) so it should taste the same. that lebanese food is cooked in germany so...
Well then how can they be cheaper here than in Spain if they actually belong to Spain?. Were they marked correctly?.
ok, if we compare with Qatar maybe Canary wins, but I was there for a whoooole year and believe me, it was too much for me.

nomad, I wasn't joking. I was disappointed many times. It even happened when I ate Lebanese food in Germany. It just didn't taste like it does here.
eu, it's not claustrophobic if you have a windsurfer or a boat, and there is no such male to female ratio as here in Doha. So, what you're talking about?
thanks for the clue md, im gonna try locking my self in my room looking at pics ive taken from paris and setting the ac just right...it might work.
(I was working in Canary Islands for a while - sounds nice, but at the end of the day it is a little claustrophobic).
I think Im starting to miss a glass of red wine with the meal.
Is it expensive in Qatar?

BTW, I have to get my license for wine.
or maybe not, according to comment of nomad

Never heard the fruits saying a word to me, amnesia.
Qatari's know their fruits, so if you see a large pile, that's not fresh it means they're not good.
Otherwise, they are what they say they are.

At least now you know why they are cheaper than in Spain.

You have to be very careful. The stickers may say Spain or South Africa, but in reality the fruits are Made in China. Trust me.
It was interesting for me to find South African plums here in June, since it was winter in SA.
