Ooredoo is stealing
I got a message from Ooredoo at 6:00 in the morning that I have used 80% of my data package allowance that is 1GB.
I also got another message saying that I have used up 80% of my Smart pack's monthly allowance that is 3GB.
Within seconds I got a message that I have used up 100% of both, So according to ooredoo I used up 800MB data within seconds while I was sleeping.
When I got up at 8AM, I turned off the Mobile data on my cellphone. I called customer service at 12:50PM to ask them about this. I was told that I have been charged 70 Qatari Riyals for extra usage. thats another 700MB as per the tariff of 0.10QR per minute.
So I used up 1.5GB of data when I was sleeping and when my data package was switched off.
To my utter shock, the customer service also informed me that I have used the 1 GB data allowance for my new cycle which starts on the 24th of each month.
My questions are:
1. My billing cycle started last night at 12AM. So how come I get the message from ooredoo at 6Am today about the usage of data from the billing cycle that ended at 11:59 PM Last night?
2. How is it possible for me to use up that much of data within seconds and then with my Mobile Data turned off?
Can I do something about it or just pay off and shut my mouth because I am an alien?
Ooredoo are awful.
I topped up my phone with 500 ryals and it was gone in an hour. I topped up again so I could call them and complain (waste of time calling their customer support) and my balance was back to zero as soon as I finished the call.
