oman by road
Has anyone actually driven to Oman from here? whats the procedure, if any? how long does it take and do we have to go via UAE? in that case will we need to get a visit visa both to and back from Muscat or do they issue a multiple entry transit visa, like saudia, for ppl travelling to Oman? there seems to be a land route bypassing UAE but it seems twice as long. i have heard Oman is beautiful and wanna visit.thanks
You will require transit visa’s for Saudi &UAE as you will have to drive through both these countries before entering Oman. As a resident of GCC, you can get visa at the entry points of Oman. For Saudi & UAE, I am not sure of the procedures.
Yes, Oman is a very scenic country. Roads are very good, driving is very safe (un like Qatar), and people are very warm. They also have excellent beaches.
Muscat festival is staring on January 21st and will go on for a month. It is a cultural festival and well conducted.
Good luck.
