Old Airport Area
Hi everyone. Do any of you live in the old airport area? Is this a good area to live in? I've heard it's one of the areas that's still affordable. Is it far from the heart of the city? Are there decent grocery stores, pharmacies, health clubs nearby? What would you say are the pluses and minuses of living there? Sorry...too many questions again! I owe you guys for being patient with all of my neverending questions. Will hopefully return the favor when i get there and get some inside info of my own. Anyhow, thanks!
What a relief! It's quite possible i'll be in that area so it's fantastic to hear positive things. Thanks for the input!
It's the best area to stay in, we have the Airport next to us, I mean how many areas have airport. Once I was thinking if Old Airport by itself was a country, it would make the smallest of all. The only thing that's not here is a petrol station and a few other stores.
Oh and you poeple forgot to mention the Traffic Depratment, Fire Station and Health Center, they are also in old Airport.
Even the Car showrooms, banks, bike shops, UPS Courier service and computer shops are here.
I live between lulu and Old Airport street.
Hi izzie i have lived just behind lulu and to me its a really good place to live easy to get to and from never hear any aircraft
Recently shifted from Musharib (Bayti 2) and i find it good (much than musharib).
Merits - Most of the apts are brand new, lots of parking, laundry, grocery stores (for home delivery) and supermarkets (FFC, lulus).
Demerits - You may once or twice hear a plane - but i think these are military aircraft flying - cause i barely hear them often.
Gold gym is nearby (opposite lulus supermarket) - although one would require to take a car there in this heat.
many schools r also not very far from old airport, health centre is also nearby in case of emergency, qtel branch is in lulu hyp, etc,
I don't know whether there are many health clubs in the Old Airport area; I only know Gold's Gym, at D Ring Road, near the Airport.
Marriott is also quite near by car...
I second Whatever Franky J said :)
