Have you started noticing the little things in life?
Does it take you longer to get over a hang over?
Do you start looking at kids and wish you had some?
Welcome to my life!

THE little old couple walked slowly into McDonalds that cold winter evening. They looked out of place amid the young families and young couples eating there that night.
Some of the customers looked admiringly at them. You could tell what the admirers were thinking.
"Look, there is a couple who has been through a lot together, probably for 60 years or more!"
The little old man walked right up to the cash register, placed his order with no hesitation and then paid for their meal. The couple took a table near the back wall and started taking food off of the tray.
There was one hamburger, one order of french fries and one drink.
The little old man unwrapped the plain hamburger and carefully cut it in half. He placed one half in front of his wife. Then he carefully counted out the french fries, divided them in two piles and neatly placed one pile in front of his wife. He took a sip of the drink, his wife took a sip and then set the cup down between them. As the man began to eat his few bites of hamburger the crowd began to get restless. Again you could tell what they were thinking.
"That poor old couple. All they can afford is one meal for the two of them." As the man began to eat his french fries one young man stood and came over to the old couples table. He politely offered to buy another meal for the old couple to eat. The old man replied that they were just fine. They were used to sharing everything.
Then the crowd noticed that the little old lady hadn't eaten a bite. She just sat there watching her husband eat and occasionally taking turns sipping the drink. Again the young man came over and begged them to let him buy them something to eat.
This time the lady explained that no, they were used to sharing everything together.
As the little old man finished eating and was wiping his face neatly with a napkin the young man could stand it no longer. Again he came over to their table and offered to buy some food. After being politely refused again he finally asked a question of the little old lady.
"Maam, why aren't you eating. You said that you share everything. What is it that you are waiting for?" She answered, "the teeth".
Information retention is a major problem.. Now why did i answer this thread????
Reminds me of an old joke;
Three ladies were discussing the travails of getting older. One said, "Sometimes I catch myself with a jar of mayonnaise in my hand, while standing in front of the refrigerator, and I can't remember whether I need to put it away, or start making a sandwich."
The second lady chimed in with, "Yes, sometimes I find myself on the landing of the stairs and can't remember whether I was on my way up or on my way down."
The third one responded, " Well, ladies, I'm glad I don't have that problem. Knock on wood," as she rapped her knuckles on the table, and then said, "That must be the door, I'll get it!"
I know I am getting old when the wrinkles on my face arn't creases from sleep anymore and stay there all day :( when I can't read the menu without my glasses, when the volume on the Tv is ear splittingly loud for others and I strain to catch what is being said :(
All that said, am at the age of confidence, not worrying what other people think and fitting into my body too.
Me too Alexa, prior to having kids i would stay up very late and not get up before 10 am and if it wasnt for work i would happily sleep in longer..I'm a night owl to, i love the peace at night...
Alexa, i wouldnt have a problem with sleeping the morning away, your lucky...I know what you mean though, you want to get up at 7am and have a constructive morning..
at 5 does not even keep me awake, lately that is!? usually a night owl. sad situation there......i guess it's called three kids, and trying to move. AHA!!! yeah, that's it.
When I couldn't see the tip of my toes because my belly was blocking the view... that's when I realized I was growing old!!! Reality further set in when I had to use reading glasses for the first time in my life, and yes, taking longer to get over my hangovers too!
I love getting older. I spent my teens worrying about what other people think, my twenties trying to please others and not really know what you want out of life, but in my thirties, i ve learnt to just please myself, happy where i am and not give a crap about what others think. Cant wait until i reach my forties..
Although arthritis does creep up on you, and i find i need a few red bulls now and again...
Jeeze, remember going drinking on a work night when I was 25-all night and catching the first AM train to work. Passing out in the parking lot from dehydration and the heat, getting an IV from the nurse at work, feeling okay after half an hour and working the rest of the day no problem. The thought of that now makes me tired. :-(
Alexa, i am going 12th of June for 4 weeks. Sometimes after the 15th is good for me. I am busy this week ... all morning booked with the invites to friend's house.
Somewhere near villagio would be convinient for you and me. Paul's maybe.
Shaving cuts take longer to heal. Hangovers last longer. Hair sprouts from the ears at random times. :-( Still feel weekend sports games four days later. Loud music is freaking annoying. Women's voices and other higher pitches get lost in the background. Less tolerance for fools.
right....always a little help. (for me thank goodness) that is if one's willing to endure the pain!!! whoaaa/ouch. lol but, qt now i need caffeine all day long and hangovers bite with sharp teeth! i could go on and on with this forum.
