Non transferable visa
Hi , I have an English friend working here in qatar. He got a NOC from his employer who he has worked for for One year., The project he was on was a 5 year one. We were told at immigration that it was a none transferable visa.
As the project is now ending before completion, he thought it would be easy to transfer to another sponsor but no.! Immigration says its a non transferable vis.
He has the backing and an NOC from his old sponsor and has a letter of contract for a new sponsor
Is there anything he can do.
Thanks!!
I am on husband sponsorship and been here in Doha for almost 6 years. I have a new job opportunity that offers sponsorship. Can I transfer my visa to the new company given an NOC from my husband without having been denied & that my visa is non-transferrable? Is it wise to transfer my sponsorship to the company then? thanks in advance.
Just asking. Do you come back in on a visit visa and then go through the process of getting a new visa with the new sponsor. Ie. fingerprints and medical again.
Thank you for everyone's input!
as mentined by my dear friend myid66 , thats it.You need to exit and come on youe new sponcer visa.
Indeed there are visa which are not transferable. The best that your friend can do is to get an NOC from his/her current sponsor and come back to Qatar under the new employer's sponsorship.
I know about this as it happened to us before wherein we are trying to transfer the sponsorship of the person we want to hire but then, when it reached immigration, we were told that the visa is not transferable.
The employee went home with an NOC and we hired him with out own visa.
companies who are comming to Doha for a specific project are given non transferable visa even you have NOC your visa can not be transferred if it is non transferable.but as you have NOC you can come bacck to Qatar on a fresh visa so ask the company who is hiring you to get a new visa for you.
Expartiates seek employment in Qatar primarily for their well being. In the process they also contribute to the overall development of the country they work for. This is a known and accepted fact.
I think, the immigration officers would look into it, if your friend would explained to them clearly, the real situation you got NOC.The sbsilsbility of NOC should clear all the hurdles for a job change.
A project may be shelved due to many reasons. Or the employer will decide to close some positions earlier than actually planned.
Or some works goes into subcontract that makes one's roles not an importatnt and then the posistion may close. In such situation I hope an employee should not be barred from changing his job, if he has NOC and can find another job.
However, I shall be glad to see other Qatar experienced QLers comments as well.
As long as you have a valid residency permit and an NOC, you can transfer anywhere you want to. This is as far as I know.
