Dubai Police has just taken delivery of a Lambo Aventador costing 420,000 euros — about $550,000.

By spybot• 13 Apr 2013 18:19

Yes they have the money however, no need for these kind of vehicles, after all any1 can be found in the GCC without a high speed chase...hahahahhha...what a waste of money

WOW!!!! I'm a Baltimore City cop (Baltimore, MD USA), our patrol cars are literally falling apart. I think it maybe time to apply for the Doha PD. That is if they have female patrol officers :)

That Lambo car will be stuck in traffic just like the rest. High speed chase in Doha is impossible. This car should be followed by a tow when they try to cruise inside the Industrial Area.

i'd rather go with the Evo. unless the Gallardo cop car will chase the hot car in QRC. :D lol

Out of all Qatar’s desperate attempts, what a pathetic way trying to be noticed on the international scene especially in those hard financial times.

I’d rather see them invest that money in making the roads better, especially that some of the roads have holes and ditches in them enough to put your car out of service permanently.

Also if they do something about the traffic that would be something to look forward to.

At least then they will be able to use this machine…

WTF!!!

When the very large sum of money for this lamborgini was signed off had the Police dept just had a double matinee of the "Dukes of Hazzard" and "Too Fast too Furious"?..

Picture this if you will?...

One large fast land Cruiser violating traffic and rules all over the place, then, one very fast and expensive lamborginui taking chase. The Land Cruiser then

A: Goes up a curb and off road or

B: flys over speed bumps?

Then picture:

A: One lamgborgini getting away!

B: A really embarrassed traffic control cop crawling over a speed bump at a snails pace.

Brilliant, well done , money well spent!

If the police start to chase me in this car I'll just drive down any street in Najma.

There's no way they can follow me in that car over the pot holes and speed bumps.

That car would be useless on any road other than the corniche.

By Must_try_harder• 17 Mar 2009 14:14
Must_try_harder

My point is....There're are no pavements. The roads are full of potholes. The police here are...well not too effective...shall we say. Yet they have purchased a Lamborghini or, maybe it was a donation, in which case it should have been sold off and the money given to a worthy cause. I can recall a couple of years ago a Lamborghini was confiscated from a drug dealer in Bulgaria. The car was then re-painted in Police colours and used against the bad guys. OK, chances are, as I said above, a 'normal' everyday cop on the street never got to see the inside. However, it did make a point.

What a complete and utter waste of money!!!

There are no roads in Qatar that this vehicle is good for. It is a show of wealth and nothing more. The chances are the 'normal' everyday cop will never get to see the inside of this car.

The people who thought of this should be sacked. The people who signed to agree the purchase should be sacked. Traffic violations happen constantly, often in front of the police and they never do a thing. Or rather, I have never seen them do a thing. The police should be held to account for what they do, or rather don't do! Then add this expence. How wasteful. I was a police officer in the uk. I can't even begin to imagine the public outcry if something like this had been purchased.

By Happy Happy• 17 Mar 2009 10:23

This car is speedy but officers won’t be able to monitor drivers with cell phones, seatbelts...etc, since it’s too low. Also, it'll get killed on bumpy roads and flying speed bumps.

Nevertheless, many parts of the world do have those fancy police cars, why not Qatar too?

There are only a two types of police in Qatar:

-The old Sudani ones who just work for the money and are very religious, they wont drive this.

-The Young Qatari ones who just work because they failed in school, they will crash this in less than a day.
