New Rules for QL forums

s_isale
By s_isale

It would be best if the owners/MODS could update the new rules that they have come up with.

By s_isale• 18 May 2011 06:53
s_isale

thats why its mandatory to have some rules for mods.

Yes ghazalz. Mods are weird creatures they are selective and very moody sometimes. After all they are human just like us. Depends on which day you get which one in which mood..

Mods : You cont live with them & you cant live without them!

As I concluded the issue by reading the comments above;

painther posted a topic regarding some International achievements of some Indian students and it has been deleted...

I personally feel sorry for that painter...

But it happens occasionally...

Once I had posted an 'Eid Mubarak' note for people in ‘ Qatar Living Lounge’ and it was removed by the big Boss he directed me to post it in religious teachings...

Sometimes the changed layout of a post keeps it alive whilst the other thread with the same stuff got removal before...weird and tricky.

A lot of Indians (including me) have congratulated the girls from pakistan for their achievement. I don't see why the same warmth could not have been extended by people from Pakistan - I know them to be big hearted. (Ofcourse, cricket match is totally different) :-)

If I were hosting/managing a blog I would really care that posters don't feel insulted - I feel many Indians are sulking and feel offended. Moderators should clear any misconceptions.

painther the source you quoted was US state department. They clearly do not want to show that westerners are here! coz then they could be become easy targets!..:)

By s_isale• 17 May 2011 12:14
s_isale

learn from the Mallus, they dont post in their language in the main forum :)

MBK, what about Desi westerners??

we need a seperate group for them too...?

By s_isale• 17 May 2011 12:13
s_isale

why are topics related to cricket, football,It etc, etc not posted in their respective groups?

Is it that the MODS have been caught out in this specific case?

By anonymous• 17 May 2011 12:12
anonymous

It's 'others', MBK!

By Milky_BarKid• 17 May 2011 12:11
Milky_BarKid

Excuse me there is no westerners in that grouping above.. I am sure that the westeners here must account for more than 5%?

By painther• 17 May 2011 12:04
painther

Ethnic groups in Qatar:

Qatari (Arab) 20%; other Arab 20%; Indian 20%; Filipino 10%; Nepali 13%; Pakistani 7%; Sri Lankan 5%; other 5%.

(source http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/5437.htm)

QL may be just following these trends; whats so great in it??

By painther• 17 May 2011 12:01
painther

Baldrick2dogs, on your comment on my thread:

Yes it was related to Pakistan girl’s achievement. It so happen that this morning when I open QL, I saw a few congratulatory posts; I did post there and in the sametime (regular morning news update) saw related news in TimesofIndia; obvious result was a new thread; but it’s utterly wrong if any1 thinks it’s “in response” , it’s just related.

As far threads related to Qatar, we can get hundreds of threads not related to Qatar and routinely violating QL guidelines. I have no issue if you comment adversely on my threads and later they are deleted; (supposedly you may be one of Mod, No issues). My threads are not my kids, they’re just my thoughts; someone may like it someone may not.

But RATIONALITY, if persists in QL, needs similar comments on many such posts, some of them are listed below. else I’ll live with perception that some people here are biased, fake preacher.

Its actually not only mood...but personal likes/dislikes as well. And then, there are those who would take action against any QLer if some 'friend' ask them to...even at midnight.

Note to People who think my post are prejudicially deleted :

Please do not take it as offensive, seriously. I don’t take ‘em seriously. Thanks anyway for concerns!!

How to over come?..simple? remove Logic part from it and make life “easy”. This piece of advice is applicable to rest of your acts in Qatar too including QL.

Life will be simpler, happier…. :)

PS : Plz do not make it Mod bashing thread.....

Never read 'em. Thought the only logical rule is to post comments which are polictically correct - just as one would do so outside the virtual world. Guess a lot of users vent out their frustration on certain people, nationalities,Co's hiding behind their QL identity.

By s_isale• 17 May 2011 10:49

yes so that the topic gets hijacked. Hijackers are never banned in QL :(

RJ...and you think the Mod heard it...lol... in the last 3 weeks or so atleast 4 of painthers threads have gone down...the issue was raised but yet today another one went down just because mod FELT it was in response to the other thread. No proper justification, just post in Indian Group...WHY???

What a pathetic and prejudiced view on posts "I'm betting it was only posted in response to the Pakistani girl done good thread yesterday"... so if two countries have something in common to share the one posted later is in response to the first. BTW why should it be of concern to Mods so far it is not violating the guidelines, written or otherwise allowed.

Ah, the Indian kid thing. Well , it means nothing to me, probably nothing to Filipinos, Germans, Aussies, etc, but may mean something to Indians, so where's the problem? This is QATAR Living after all!

s-isale - it all depends on MOOD oops i mean Mods

By s_isale• 17 May 2011 09:13
s_isale

90% of discussion taking place in the QL lounge is not related to Qatar. There are so many out there who are not members of their ethnic groups.

By Rony John• 17 May 2011 09:08

the latest RULE

"POST ONLY IN RELATED GROUP"

anything not related to Qatar should not b posted on the main forum

baldrick2dogs

What new rules are you talking about?

By Khanan• 17 May 2011 09:00
Khanan

there is no rule..

depends upon which of the Mod is active at the moment and his mood...

By happygolucky• 17 May 2011 08:55
happygolucky

yeah, even the nationality likings of each mod and when they are online...seems time to unmask these mods who sitting behind screens unleash their racism while at the same time appearing very tolerant on forums.

By s_isale• 17 May 2011 08:54
s_isale

rules violation is there everywhere. its not just a distinct feature of Qatar

By s_isale• 17 May 2011 08:52

that means users will need to know the rules for the mods rather than the rules for the users
