I used to live in North London, where there are lot of Turks. I found that they kept their culture quite well.

As a Turk, I found that the Greeks are a copy of Turks in their traditions except a few differences emanating from our religious beliefs. Historically, Greeks were under the Muslim Ottoman rule for almost 5 centuries. That might explain the similarities. I was happy that the Greeks were able to preserve their culture and the Ottomans were tolerant enough to let their culture prosper.

I can't imagine the Greeks being under the French or German or British rule for 5 centuries. Otherwise their culture, language and traditions would be anything but Greek.

Why should they? Depends on the two countries from which people come from, it all differs.. a relationship of an Asian with Westerner will be different that a relationship of two Europeans, or relationship of an European and American, or a relationship of Spaniards and Asian...

They will all have different problems and different joys in their relationships.

It's all in the cultural differences.
