Mozaic offer for Lagoon Plaza Towers resident
Qtel will provide high-definition digital channels on Mozaic TV+ for free as an exclusive pilot project at Lagoon Plaza Towers in the West Bay.
Using the advanced fibre infrastructure already installed by Qtel in the West Bay area, the high-definition service will provide a wide range of channels with the highest picture definition and sound quality available now.
As an added incentive to encourage all residents to get the most from the service, Qtel is offering a full range of premium channels for Mozaic TV+ customers for free till the year-end.
For 2010, the first channels to be offered in high definition are Al Kass Sports HD, Luxe HD, Dream HD, and Dubai Sports HD. These will be joined shortly by a range of additional channels, including AD Sports 3 HD to AD Sports 8 HD available with the AD Sports Barclays Premier League subscription.
Other channels include Showsports 1, OSN Movies, Discovery, National Geographic Wild and the Food Network, all in high-definition, and available via subscription to Mozaic TV OSN Packages, Movies Plus and Premier Plus.
These HD channels are also available to customers at Mesaieed and West Bay Lagoon who are part of Qtel’s FTTH roll-out.
The new HD channels will be made available for free for existing Mozaic TV customers in the Lagoon Plaza Towers until January 2011, when the HD Upgrade price shall be announced.
“With a range of sports, movies, entertainment and educational programming available, customers across the country will have the best digital television experience every offered in Qatar.
“High definition channels will provide customers with a unique viewing experience by increasing the resolution of the images in comparison to traditional television. The service provides five times the amount of pixels per frame of standard definition TV allowing images to be noticeably sharper, colours more vivid and the sound crystal clear.”
Qtel has plans in place to offer high-definition digital broadcast to homes across Qatar as part of its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) programme, which is already underway. With the advanced infrastructure of the fibre-to-the-home programme, Qtel customers will benefit from high-definition, ‘incredibly fast’ Internet access and a wide range of exciting new services.
Customers who want to be positioned for the new wave of high-definition programming have the choice of the special standalone television service Mozaic TV or Qtel’s Mozaic TV+, which offers television, telephone and Internet through a single cable.
