shreeya i'm afraid i don't know what to reply to that, i'm not an economist and its not like these things really tickle my fancy. what i can say however is that inflation rates in malta are not very high compared to other countries which means that while other countries' money loses value, ours loses less... also inspite of being a small economy, we used to offer offshore benefits to financial companies. although now much of that has finished, many foreign investment companies have set up head offices in malta, so basically although it a small economy, in spite of size its very stable and strong.. hence the currency remains strong. but mind you as off 2008 we're adopting euro so we're all in the same boat..

Novita...no worries re: climbing wall.. take your time. at most i'll go climb some palm trees :)

p.s. jekk ghedt xi hmerija rigward il flus ghiduli! :)

not doing very well. When we arrived we calculated based on 5 QR to the pound, and now over 7 QR to the pound. We practically had at least 20 percents pay cut.

@kf07 :

I still need to go back to you about the climbing stuffs.

Amnesia – Qatar third strongest currency?? You sure about that?

As far as I know QR is bound to USD which is performing very, very and I repeat very bad lately … *crying out very, very and I repeat very loud*

The only fact that I know is that Malta has the strongest currency in the world (followed by Kuwait, then Qatar).

You'll find alot of information here and I hope Qatar will be able to welcome you soon!

Consider Malta is a small country ... i think their ppl start invading Qatar. Never met any Maltese till we arrived in Doha, have met both of the maltese pilot and their families and seems judging from this forum more and more Maltese arriving in Qatar :D
