hey c'mon everyone we should all be donating blood...it's in you to give.

Especially living with Doha's traffic you never know when you may be on the receiving end.

We gave blood regularly when we were in Qatar, it doesn't cost anything.

Injection first so you didn't feel the needle going in, covered up with a blanket and then the bag is placed on a rocker to slowly draw the blood out (None of the squeezing a piece of wood to pump the blood).

One amusing incident was when two guys (arab I think) came in and asked the nurse if they could "give a donation between them".
