I lost 23 Kgs in 10 months.
113 Kg to 90 Kg, 40” waist siz to 35”. Blood pressure down from 160/98 to 120/82. Fasting sugar from 110 to 72. HDL from 30 to 42. Most important is the good feeling and energy level.
How – 45 min to 1 hrs of gym on 4-5 days in a week. I regularly attend fitness first group training classes. I do a mixture of cardio exercises and weight training. Cycling classes and body-pump classes are great in fitness first.
Diet – No special diet. I ate almost everything (means I did not restrict any food groups) but counted on quantity (in terms of calories and fat intake). Calories in take on six days are limited to 1800 to 2000 calories (different for females) and on weekend almost 3500. Used www.nutritiondata.com, caloriecount.about.com, www.thedailyplate.com for assessment of calories requirements and intake and used www.exrx.net for exercise information.
Its new year and lets loose fat (not weight) and be healthy

Da, you cannot lose 20 KG, it would be ¾ of your current weight.

You can even loose fat by working out from home. Its your motivation that matters. However FitnessFirst group classes are excellent for people with lesser motivation (like me in the initial stages).

First I have tried walking on corniche but was very irregular. Then I brought a treadmill and never used it beyond 2 weeks. Somehow FitnessFirst (group exercises) motivated to stick on and its like a habit for me.

I will update it,

I lost 20 Kg of fat in 10 months. My muscle mass has improved from starting. You are in danger if you lose muscle mass. This happens if you restrict too much on food and do only cardio exercises. Its ok to loose as much as fat in your body (normal fat percentage is 7 to 15%) in any short interval, if you can keep your muscle intact.
