India set to overtake China in energy use and its going to leave the americans and the europeans far behind

India will emerge as one of the largest global energy markets overtaking even China in future in view of the country’s growing population, according to HE Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, President of Administrative Control and Transparency Authority.

“I believe one of the major challenges for India in future will be to meet the rising energy needs of a growing population. The projections are that over the next several years, India’s population will exceed that of China,” al-Attiyah told Gulf Times yesterday.

Blistering..

I'm afraid, you are asking too much. For AAparty to win the 2014 elections seems next to impossible. They do have supports, but only in metros and other cities. The rural/ uneducated folks may not even know about their existence. Moreover there is this caste/religion thing running in most of the people's mind. AAparty has to reach to the rural india. They should be always in the news/media, so that people keep hearing about them.

Fingers crossed...

HGL...I was thinking "LPG"...lol

UK No countries should need to Import OIL/GAS... methane is self sufficient... to a very large extent...

Even vehicles can run on Methane...with same petrol engine...

This gas is produced from the waste matter... if utilized properly all waste matter will be recycled and thus taken care of even in the poorest of nations.

GodFather.

In order to achieve this India will need to import Gas from Iran via Pakistan! Now that's another issue!

Brit... I Aam Aadmi... (Common Man)... lol

I am angry at the corrupt Indian government and the jokers that have today become Politicians... they dont belong to ANY party... they protect each other... Lok Pal Bill has just revealed that..

The entire political system has come together on a common understanding that Lok Pal Bill that will empower a common man to raise the court against Govt Offical should not be passed.

Every time people say.. "what we can do?" ... but for the FIRST time in MY LIFETIME I see SOMETHING can be done... something... and that is Aam Aadmi Party...

Aam Admi Party is expanding... they are having huge meetings (Jansabah) every day different places...

They have opened 300 offices all over India.

Most people are not hearing about them because AAParty is blocked out of the News Media... the only news media carry is to try to make fight between Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal.

Aam Admi Party is sure to win the 2014 elections... If they win the election the "Minister" will still be Aam Aadmi and will not get any more benefits (like car, Villa, etc) than common Man..

I request all Indians to follow Aam Admi Partyto get the latest news and exposes... at:

In order to meet its power requirements , India needs to diversify its sources and look into alternatives including wind turbines and solar.

Sources for power at cheaper rates already exist... and people use it.

METHANE... or in other words BIOGAS... is available to be made in most farms... Cities too could also harness this power...

But then how will the corrupt politicians fill their pockets if they dont have contractors to pay them periodically.

See this senario:

Reliance was given Contract to extract gas and sell to Govt at $2 later on they said 2 is not enough so they doubled it to $4 later on they increased it to $10 and now they are asking for $14. Since the Petroleum Minsiter Jaipal Reddy was finding it ridiclous Reliance has shut off some wells and selling reduced gas... so govt reduced cooking gas cylinders to people to 6 per year. Jaipal Reddy also tried to fine Reliance $ 1 Billion.. but what happened the Govt kicked out Jaipal Reddy and brought in Veerapa Moily... the price of Gas is due for revision in April 2014... to $10 or $14 from the current $4.2.

Inflation will sky rocket...

The only way ahead is Aam Aadmi Party...for a Corruption free India.

More demand and less power generated will mean more dependance on energy from other countries. Oil import bill puts a huge strain on forex reserves. Most oil marketing companies in India are limping and dependant on government for compensation.Populistic measures prevent any increase in price of power. Illegal power is drawn, Transmission losses are understated.

India will need to pull up its socks in finding sources for power at cheaper rates. Most power plants are either financially infeasible or in paper for a long time.No cheap coal, not much water for hydel plants, not many nuclear plants have been commissioned.Even if they come up, there is a lot of opposition.Even after 50 years, power has not reached a lot of villages.

No power for 2 hours every day in some major cities!!!!

Barring few states, industrial output is down because of lack of reliable power supply.

Please read what HE Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah said again."India will emerge as one of the largest global energy markets" which means as a consumer, India needs a lot of energy. But, whether supply can meet demand is a huge question.

Whether India will rock the world or India will get rocked will be evident when you touch down in your home town.

Cheers

oh my god.. So its the chinese and the indians who consume so much enrgy and pay in hard cash for it too and all this time I thought it was the americans and the European Union who made the world go round. The funny thing is that this guys out here in the gulf find it hard to admit and maybe feel a bit ashamed to admit that its countries like China and India who keep them afloat

In a democracy its not possible to implement the 'one child policy' using force...considering major population is in the villages where people want male children to work in the fields or get daily wages to bring some money home at the end of the day. No political party would dare to do something severe like what China has done.
