well it depends on the person i feel, for me it will never work coz i for one am a guy who needs physical contact (no not talking about the sex part) i mean i want my special someone to be with me all the time, so i can see her, touch her, go out with her, hold hands, have dinner,  and make love 24/7...oops  :) So no LDR's for this kitty kat

with that LDR mexican saying...lol

Oh so true...

I used to believe in it not so long ago...and the outcome made me somewhat a cynical person (i think) about relationships (close and distant) afterwards...but I'm keeping my fingers crossed this time.

Long distance relationships don't work as a norm. There are too many obstacles. The main ones being trust and expectations.

So far so good, been doing it off an on for about 9 months now, looking forward to a 5 month stretch starting in July.   I think the important thing is knowing it's going to end.

Remember those crying and sleepless nights...

Those special occasions that he / she's not there with you to celebrate it... (ur birthdays, Christmas, new year, anniversaries, valentines day and etc.)

Those times that u almost give up due to loneliness...

TRUST is very important. I had this type of relationship before, its quite hard and costly...too much overseas calls..the hard part is needing his/her presence but they are just not there physically! emails or calls are never enough. but if both are committed you can survive. but i just dont know what went wrong!there may be a lot of factors but im sure distance is one of the reasons~
