A letter by a Qatari Girl in the Gulf Times
I cannot find the newspaper so whatever I remember I will post it. Anyhow it was printed about a week ago
In the letter the writer has stated that it is a good sign that the Qatari Government is trying to make laws for the protection of house workers (maids and drivers). She then questions who will protect the rights of the Qatari employers. She then points out that the house workers are not worthy of basic human rights as they beat the children, THEY CAST SPELLS, and they steal.
She says that it costs the employer a lot of money when they bring them to Qatar (she meant airticket) plus it is very costly for the employer to get his driver the driving license as he has to pay for the driving school fees (it costs about 2300-2500 for 50 driivng lessons) so who will reimburse those costs if the house workers arre given the options to switch employers.
(I couldnt help laughing when i read about casting spells) I did send a letter in reply to the Gulf Times but looks as if it got caught in the censorship shredder)
Any negative comments/remarks would be highly appreciated
The Qatari girl must be blonde.... Indeed! , She must be family related to Famous Bimbo Family......

You mentioned that your Indonesian maid spoiled/wrecked your furniture. Did she put TERMITES in the furniture that ate your furniture?
the problem is that really qatary law protect more employee than employer in such cases .i had made from Indonesia and she spooled half of my furniture and washing machine ,she was lazy ,with an-respectable manners and she has sister hear in doha.i allowed her to go and visit her sister and her sister to cam and visit her.after 2 month (the guaranty that office gives you ) she scape !!! we where obliged to bay her ticket to return to indonesia !!!! So we lost money we pay for office + return ticket + damage furniture
No one from any side help us to get our money back even if suppose be that she signed contract for 2 years.
actually i saew a video where a maid hit a baby so hard and through him coz he wa crying , but i think not all of them is liek that of course and also a woman should raise her kids on her own not by some forgein maid , it is the tax for getting a foregin maid and i guess if the maid is treated well there will be no problem
My friend pays around 2500 bucks for one concoction to a lady in Iraq. Makes me feel like switching job.
the money, the people, the places. They all tend to vanish
Wait a minute - I don't want "white stuff" sprinkled in my food!
also believed in magic and witch craft and she would't allow me to eat stuff that my neigbor's daughter sent us. But I would sneak at night and still manage to eat it and in the morning I would tell her that I had thrown it in the garbage as it had a magical smell.
Talk about superstition
Salam PM...ha ha ha...that's scary. Maybe she calls it her 'den'! Yes, I guess it must be big business elsewhere. My experience of it has been in the US, thats all.

Maria.....you know what they say, Life's a Bitch and then you marry one
Girls generally believe in black magic. As for boys, what can I say, they do after marriage (in witches). LOL. (Please girls, be a sport).
During Ramadan the Gulf-Times published on demons, ghosts, devils and witches for 30 continuous days. The article was in Hindi so I couldnt read it myself. but one of my friend used to translate it for me and we would get a good laugh out of it.
First of all what has fasting got to do with demons and witches.
Secondly they would write at the top of the article "With Regards to the Holy month of Ramadan this article is for the Hindi readers" and then it would start
How to drive away witches and Where to do demons and devils live.
it was stated in one article that devils and demons live in washrooms. (No wonder the washrooms stink)
Guess Gulf Times just took it toooo far.
Maria..............didnt say you were , you said your friends and that was who I was refering to.
Black Prince, I am not threatened by black magic. My friends have used it when they were desperate to get their lost love back. Seemingly innocent. I am not sure how they do it but it worked. May be coincidence.
Maria......hit in on the head, to be threatened by so called black magic, you first have to beleive in its exsistance and power.
As an afterthought, I'd like to add I firmly believe in human rights and not in favour of exploiting labour.
Last 30 minuntes and this is the fourth post where I see witchcraft / blackmagic etc etc etc.
Whatz up on this weekend guys.

Knoxcollege, I do have some arab girlfriends. They are superstitious and believe in spells, black magic. I know it is against islam (they tell me so)but they believe it works. May be I am foolish but I am somewhat convinced it does.
Heh. I came across a similar statement a few weeks ago, originally published in an NHRC survey.
"Maid used magic to gain favour"
... Some housewives also believed their maids were participating in black magic. "I have seen my maid putting some white substance on food. When I cornered her, she admitted that this substance is some sort of magic by which she can gain favour of the family she works for," the report quoted one housewife....
