It's not actually like this. People, Hizb Allah aren't bad. They would defende Lebanon if they can. They're not evil, not at all. That's an unfair picture.
2. Lebanese police, who confirmed the capture, said the two soldiers were seized after they “infiltrated the border near the village of Aita el-Shaab.
Hizbullah official statement: "Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers near the border with occupied Palestine, and the captives have been moved to a safe area," Hezbollah said in a statement faxed to The Associated Press.
Here's map of the area. Having seen the footage where the humvee was struck the road looks like the patrol roads the Israelis have along the border.
Im coming across more and more articles on the web that say that the Israeli soldiers were capture INSIDE lebeanon in a place called Aita Al-Chaab... if this is true... this puts a totally different spin on things
Mister I seriously doubt it is an actual quote. Sounds paraphrased to me at the very least. the fact that you say some official at some conference only makes it more unlikely to be verbatim.
DAGOC has ceased association with any and all charities in Qatar and the Middle East, so has the Olympic Committee. Apprantely almost every charity in Qatar funds either the Hamas or the Hezbollah or both. :?
Ol Dubya isn't exactly an export of which most Americans with a passport are proud. A coupl'a months ago I spent some time in New Hampshire, Washington DC and Maryland. My none-too-scientific assessment of the two states and DC was that they are democrat heartlands which have a rather snobbish, reasonably educated, globally aware populace. They are embarrassed about George W and see him as a dilettante. Curiously enough, Republicans don't think he's fantastic - but they had nobody better financially supported when he ran.
Perhaps next time, America will vote into office a man (or woman!!) whose actually been abroad before!
You all have to admit that is a really clever cartoon though. Sometimes these editorial cartoonists hit the mark pretty well, and this is a good example. Thanks for posting it e46.
I was in Lebanon for 10 days. Got there on July 7th and came back on the 19th. It was supposed to be a 'nice vacation', but ended up being a nightmare just after 4 days of our arrival date.
Thank God were Im from no bombs were dropped, and no one got killed. But still, main roads over there were just exploded in a mean way. Sleeping and waking up at the sound of the planes is just too scary, I can imagine how the people are suffering over there.
My husband and myself came back thru Jordan. It took us a whole day to arrive there! It was a mess, everyone has lost control over themlseves! Since I got here I'm in such depression that sometimes I try to hide but can't. Well, to see your contry go down like that? Anyone would be I guess.
I just hope and pray that this catastrophe comes to an end soon. But after what? giving Lebanon a sad end?
I hope all Lebanese in this site are safe as well as their beloved ones.

There are 2 versions:
1. across the border from Aita al-Shaab
2. Lebanese police, who confirmed the capture, said the two soldiers were seized after they “infiltrated the border near the village of Aita el-Shaab.

Here's a map of the region.
I came across the same GIASI. And from many sources

Due to my developing case of Alzheimer's :), I had to check the internet.
He said that at least in a couple of press conferences. One with Putin and the other with his favorite British puppy.
P.S. he used the word captured not kidnapped
As far as I know the Red Cross/Red Crescent wasn't one of the charities they black listed. But they aren't working with DAGOC anyway.
What about the red crescent? They have joined up with red cross. They can't be financing hizbollah surely?
Can't blame them
They tried that, but unfortunatly the Olympic Commitee is putting its foot down against any support of any Middle Eastern charities.
Maybe they should provide DAGOC with the info where the money goes?
Mister I seriously doubt it is an actual quote. Sounds paraphrased to me at the very least. the fact that you say some official at some conference only makes it more unlikely to be verbatim.
They do, unfortunatly the charity my firm was representing does not, but now they've lost their connection too DAGOC and won't get it back. :(
Yes they do, DG.

Maybe he means the open microphone incident. If that's it then Bush's analysis was right.
Where did you find that exact quote, Mister? Who was the "foreign official" and what press conference?
Just curious about the whole context, etc. Thanks.
His stupidity is dominating the United States and Britain, not neccessarily the whole west.
Super7
Yes. Unfortunately. He said that during a press conference last week with some foreign official.
Dohagirl..
You can say again. The problem is, his stupidity is dominating the west now.

thanks for answering dohagirl!
If you're expecting anything intelligent to come out of George W's mouth you're going to be waiting a long time.
You have put that in quotes. Is it an actual quotation?
Listen to George Bush analysis of the situation:
"Hizbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. That's whay we have violence in the middle east."
How deep is that?! :P
it is a good cartoon. I thought that too.
You all have to admit that is a really clever cartoon though. Sometimes these editorial cartoonists hit the mark pretty well, and this is a good example. Thanks for posting it e46.
It's a disaster, isn't it? And then you have people like this nutcase

who love what's going on and glorify it.
