Just wanted to say 'good on you" to the Lebanese population in Doha.
Every time i wonder where this really cool, friendly person i have just met is from, hey it seems to be Lebanon. The guy selling us our cars, the guy in the Virgin megastore, the coach at the club, secretary at the school, moms in the playgroup. Awesome sense of humour, great conversation, intelligent, and hooray, the most normal bunch of people here as far as i'm concerned. thanks for making life here far more bearable!!

first of all i want to thank you all for all the nice remarks you made about lebanese and lebanon.

if i have the choice to be reborn i would shoose lebanon all over again.

i beleive that if lebanon was left alone, lebanon can be one of the most successful countries in the world.

if i immagine lebanon without the wars, lebanon will look like swiss with an extra flair to it.

sometimes we are sweet, sometimes we are rude. sometimes we are open minded while other time PIG heads.

but wut makes a lebanese LEBANESE is the ability to be all that in the same time.

we love life, we love you, we love diversity and we just love being labeled as lebanese wherever we go cz we really take pride in it.

again thx all for the nice words and thx for supporting us.

love the lebs r hate them..we r here 2 stay....And we are proud. We r the most resilient race...regardless of religion....It doesnt matter who tries to bring us down..we pick ourselves up and continue with life..with a smile on our face...And god help the lebanese people who have suffered through war and continue to suffer. Despite enduring years of war and torture we manage to be hospitable and be the best that we can...So if uve come across some bad lebanese people, sympathise with them and consider what they have been through instead of criticize them.....

I was going to visit Lebanon on a tourist visa for 2 weeks. I had an excellent tour package and then the stupid war started 3 weeks before my departure. I was saying to my self, Did I just got lucky or is just me and my crazy traveling plans? I was able to recover all my money. Maybe Jordan???

The only place in the ME that I would go on holiday. They are friendly, open and don't think the world revolves around them.

Only bad point - drive really badly maintained cars too fast. (Still safer than here) :)

I think there are only two definitions of humans (good or bad)

Then comes nationality and religious

In every community and religious there are good and bad people

Most of nationalities Especially Qatari and Gulf poeple can barely Distinguish between "Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese.. even most of times they can not ..

i'm MATH teacher in secondary school... and all of my student has not discovored my nationality yet !! tsome of them still think that i'm lebanese and the other says i'm syrian and the other believe that i'm mixture :)

Even i forgot that where i'm from !!! can anybody tell my ?? lol

I am half Lebanese, and I love Lebanon, went there zillions of times and was even born there...and though I agree with many of the qualities mentioned here, I have to mention that by looking little bit deeper you may discover a lot of negative things in the Lebanese personality.... I will not illustrate any more than that because I don't want to open the doors of hell, I am so busy today for arguing :)as for the beauty issue I have to say that the Turks are the most good looking people on earth

damn sight more friendly than the locals, miserable glaring arrogant bunch, and if that is stereotyping them, well then tough.

Thank heavens you can choose your friends huh? Do you have something against the Lebanese Raina? I was merely indicating that i had met some really nice people and that the bulk of them were actually from Lebanon. Was't inviting any criticism just stating a fact and it is a fact because all those people are Lebanese.

Xenophobia or what???

I think the issue of "Lebanization" in Doha has been blown out of propotion and represents the best example of blind stereotyping. With all the respect to the lebanese community, there are other middle eastern nationalities "Jordanians, Palestinians,Syrians that stand out on the same level and you might have met them and thought they were lebanese!!
