Land Cruisers

why is it that anyone driving a land cruiser believes they have the right to disobey the rules of the road? They drive on pavements, cut you off and don't even bother to look when entering a roundabout. I was nearly wiped out with my 2 kids in the car at the mall roundabout yesterday by a guy who just never looked or stopped and drove straight thru the circle. Not the first incident and i haven't been in Doha that long!! Land cruiser drivers, you really are not special, there was no divine intervention involved when you were created, to put it bluntly GET A LIFE, you are just a tiny person in this big world, what will it take to open your eyes. My family is just as important to me as yours is to you, what right do you have to behave like this? I really hope your wife and kids have a driver because if i was married to you , i would never get into a car with you!!!!

River-Rat, why don't we place your post at the gates of City-Centre and the Land Mark shopping malls. Lots of these stupid drivers will head to those on thursday eve

Gypsy can be more correct, it's a machine, and up to one how to use it ....

It's not the fault of the car, it's the jumped up people who drive them. Just because your car is the size of a tank doesn't mean you should drive like you're in one.

Once upon a time (maybe ten or twelve years ago?) Mercedes in Germany launched a commercial campaign in tv and the papers that stated something like `With built-in right to drive first` (Mitt eigebaute Vorfahren) or something like that.

They had to take the commercials off the air, because people really started driving like that...

Actually, I agree with the person that said Landcruisers are his favorite 4x4. Mine too. What a rugged, capable vehicle. Just cost too much for me. At home I drove a 4Runner that I liked very much. Well made and ran with no problems.

As for the Landcruiser drivers........they drive like they OWN the place!!!

Well, they DO own the place, don't they??

I got the same feeling also, that the Land Cruiser is just a Camel. They do even start with the same letters.

Cruiser & Camel :)

no number plate... hit and run... sounds like the same guy from the Mansoura hit and runs a couple of weeks ago... did he have tinted windows?

if it was the same one... it wasn't an accident... it was probably intentional.... thats his MO....

don't worry - he probably didn't get his car fixed as he'll need a police report before the garage will touch it

Well in fact, his bumper fell as well and surprise surprise, there was no number plate .....

Even the police were sure the guy paniced and he didn't know what to do.

My car was ok, if he only stopped, i would have not complained. But the poor guy, surely paid thousands to fix his car.

While i was talking to the police, i showed them how fast the cars were driving on the roundabouts. It was crazy man

I have a hummer, and while driving back home a couple of weeks ago, a landcruiser hit me from the back, for some weird reason, after the shock, i truned back to discover the guy with his black landcruiser is running away.

The car remainings were all over the place, his car was leaking oil and water but he managed to run away.

I called the police, nothing happened.

I've never been a fan of the Land Cruiser. I really dislike the handling. It reminds me of the Ford Explorer. Back in Canada, I had a Grand Cherokee which handled much better, in my opinion, nice and firm, not a wallowing marshmallow...to each his own, I guess.

Because they can get away with it. That's the reason they act that way. This is not only true for Land Cruisers but any car on the road with a mindless, disrespectful freak with his hand on the steering wheel and his itchy foot on the accelerator. I just hope the police take a crackdown on these people so we won't be gambling with our lives everytime we are on Qatar's roads. I agree with Beast666 that it is better to protect ourselves and our loved ones by wearing seatbelts and putting our children in car seats.

The Toyota Landcruiser is a fine specimen of what an SUV should be and has been leading the way for many years now. Hate the cruiser-drivers, not the vehicle !!!

PS : The landcruiser was and still is my favourite 4-wheel drive !!!
