How come they do not show much of western movies in India's theatres?

Only one Indian I know around my company watches and has knowledge in Western movies...out of 40.

...but only Western movies...he doesn't know Akira Kurosawa...

Uhh...I think I'm talking about how many people in India watch a movie like Hugh Jackman's Serendipity in their theatres...

Those guys were educated and made the BEST movies EVER - they never mixed their movies with wobbly music and they never asked Shah Ruk or Shelpa Totty to have a part......I love curry but as John Wayne once famously said 'The only good Indian is a Dead indian 'What a true sage that Gentelmen was. God beless America, Fanny Mae and of course Krispy Kreme. Hic! Back to the gin

Western movies, so called Hollywood movies do make big buisness in india. Unfortunately the indian you are in touch with looks like indian movie buff, cant blame him !

Well Indian movie industry is so huge, movies are produced in aprox 18 languages in india and they make big box office hit too !

Also indian movies are played not only in Asia but also in UK, US. I have big fans of Indian movies in Iran, Malaysia and heard about them in Russia.

In addition to this there are so many different kinds of entertainments like TV( 20 or more languages !) , drama, several classical and few hundreds folk dances going on.

As far as western music is concerned, many practice western numsic too....

to name a few A R Rahman who composed music for Brodway operas, Zubin Mehta who is main orchestra controller ( Not sure what they call to a person who guides few hundred musicians ) at New York Philharmonic orchestra.

I would end this small (!) response..... dont want to blow"India" trumpet so far and so loud.......
