LABOURERS NEED HELP - HINDI TRANSLATOR .
33 Nepalese workers have not been paid their salaries for up to six months; the company now has no work for them and they are simply biding their time, without money or food, trying to get help from the Labour Department. They have registered their complaint but now have to present themselves, ten at a time, at the Labour Court in Al Sadd whilst they wait for their errant sponsor to be “found”. WE DESPERATELY NEED A TRANSLATOR TO HELP THEM WITH THE LABOUR DEPT. IF YOU CAN HELP IN ANY WAY, SPEAKING HINDI (OR NEPALI) THIS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
As they have no money whatsoever, GETTING TO THE LABOUR DEPT means that they set off at 4am each day from their camp which is located near the fort roundabout in the industrial area, for what is a gruelling 4 or 5 hour walk. They then sit around aimlessly waiting for some action before being told to “come back tomorrow” – and facing another exhausting walk home in the heat of the day.
They urgently need help with transport so I am appealing to anyone who is able to help in any way, either by funding taxi fares, offering their own services to drive them at least one way, or....even better....give us a ten-seater bus!!! Seriously, if any of you work for large organisations which have strong corporate social responsibility policies, this is a great way for them to make a difference!
