I've decided to bring my dog Deisha to Qatar

By Manna Pro

She's a good girl, I don't want to leave her here and she's a great watch dog, I just heard about the light bulb thiefs there. And she loves the heat, she's a Rhodesian Ridge Back and I think she'll really love being there. My daughter brought me the Execuvest and I'm looking for body Armour for her as well. Looking at the K-9 One vest but thinking I better go with the K-9 Operations Vest since it cost more..Only the best for my Deisha.

Anybody have any opinions or experience with these dog vests?

All my kids know about the Middle East is what they read in the paper and see on TV- They don't think there's a civilised country over there. I tried to tell them they are not all bad

yes i have watched the wizard of oz. it's a classic. never knew what breed my dog is because her then pregnant mother was picked just up by my mom's friend in the streets. the vets we asked kept naming different breeds :D despite her small size, she is THE watch dog of our home. the bigger ones we have can't even compare.

i never understood the dislike for dogs in this part of the world. i don't care if it's because of religion, i think it's a lousy reason. they are much better than humans in many ways. several months ago a dog's face got permanently damaged because she saved a little girl from a road accident. found this in yahoo today:

mike, i completely agree.

Those are my daughters dogs- She doesn't even live her anymore, she just comes over all the time to eat. I, like you don't really care for small hairy dogs but hers did grow on me..And they kill varmits, all day and all night.

There's not a mouse within 2 miles of this place when they're around.

I thinks its a cairns terrier..The same kind of dog that portrayed (Toto) in the movie The Wizard Of Oz which was a popular childrens movie in the 60's and early 70's in America when I was growing up. You've probaly never heard of it. I think the part was played by a Westie in the movie but it was playing a Cairs Terrier. And I can attest to the fact that Japanese girls DO NOT eat dogs.

i'm asian and i love dogs. i don't eat them too. what a stupid thing to say moza.

manna, your daughter's dog looks like my baby tuchi when she was young. same dirty mop coloring. without the pointy ears though. she just gave birth to four puppies two weeks ago ^_^ can't wait to go home in two months to finally meet them

I presume Diavolo is a male, right? Is diavolo's name came from the word "diablo"? I would again presume that he is a good match to MP's Deisha. Is deisha a Japanese name?

I used to have a thing for Oriental women but I got over it in my early 20's.. I went to Florida Tech and they has some kind of english program that attracted a lot of rich Japanese girls and I had my pick, they just loved me because of my size and strength, and I had a Olds Delta 88 that was bigger than thier homes back home. I could get 8 of them in there, i'd take em all to the Drive Inn in Cocoa Beach and they'd just giggle like crazy everytime I said anything..They actually fought over me...I had two favorites

By nomerci• 6 Jun 2012 18:33

Hmmm,,,Diavolo is Roman royalty...well, she seems to be impressive enough...let's see. He likes blondes for fun....maybe she can convert him to take them a bit more serious...;)

Diesha is kind of aloof... She acts like a cat, in fact the first time my little (3 year old then grandaughter) saw her I asked her what she thought and she said "She's a Catdog!" lol

I said, "yeah, thats what I thought too sweety"

I swear to god she has lion blood in her, they call them lion hounds, she sits like one, acts like one, sleeps like one, eats like one and does everything like a lion.

I got her from a real South African to settle a $2500 debt he owed me..Champion bloodlines. She's right out of the heart of Africa

Most Asians don't like dogs so you'll need to keep her away from them and for the other Asians that do like dogs they tend to eat them so keep her away from them also. Actually just avoid Asians full stop.

But in March she ran down a Coyote in my pasture and tore it limb from limb, then she violently shook the limbs for a few hours. I had to Power Wash her she was so bloody. She's a lion hound and will tree any mountian lion (and we got a lot of them here) within 5 miles of our property.

Body armor, here for your dog??? Really there is not a need for that..I have been here 10 years and have not heard of one dog shooting...

If you decide to bring body armor, a word of advice, be sure it is not of a military nature..as customs will confiscate it..that is if you can even get it on the aircraft...

By nomerci• 6 Jun 2012 18:19

Well, let's see if she find's Diavolo's approval...he is a little snobby when it comes to the ladies....

Seriously Mandi?

Nomercie, maybe we could breed them. She went into heat about 3 months ago and my daughters little westie was always trying to mount her when she was sleeping. My kids would kick him off her but I always said "let him go"...I wanted to see what would come out, probably some little Super Dog that would be worth a lot of money.

Good idea...arm her to the teeth too!

She can meet Diavolo, my stud "Neapolitano" (neapolitan Mastiff). He comes from a long line of studs, some of his ancestors fought in Caesar's "arenas" against slaves, Christians and Gladiators. Diavolo likes girls and they like him :)

Just be sure to get the matching goggles and gas mask. Fashion coordination is very important here.

There is really nothing to worry about, yes alot of people are scared of dogs here but i dont think they would do anything to hurt them . we researched alot before bringing her out as we didnt want to put her in any danger but everything is fine. plus it is far to hot for a dog to be wearing any kind of jacket here

By Mandilulur• 6 Jun 2012 18:01

Wise idea since I think a Rhodesian Ridgeback would scare the dog poop out of a lot of people here.

I dont really think there is any need for a Dog vest, We have been here for 5 months and also brought our dog with us shes a german shepered. We have had no problems at all from anyone since we been here apart from the odd few saying she barks which is natural for a dog
