It was scored differently way back in the dark ages. I got something just over 1300 out of 1600, I think I remember. If you ask me about my GREs I'm sure I don't have a clue! And, yes, I loved Cornell.

my cousin also graduated from Cornell a few years back. She absolutely loved Ithaca!

What did you get on your SAT back in your day?

I believe that UVA is one of the most difficult school in terms of admissions, certainly on a par with the Ivies. (I'm a Cornell graduate.)

You are absolutely right, force1! In many cases it's just a matter of which school you like and does that school encourage you to seek the knowlege you need. In my case I did enjoy my Ivy league schools because of the diversity and committment of my fellow students.

I believe it doesn't really matter what univ. you go to in the states.

It's how you use the knowledge you get from the uni.

Obviously if you go to an IVY college you are more likely to get a good job. But I know many IVY league alumni who didn't use their opportunity well and are in a v. tight condition and I also know ppl from Community Colleges who are now millionaires.

You cannot just transfer. I believe you have to attain a certain GPA in your freshman year to transfer.

Try for Carnegie Mellon University here in Qatar - you can't do better for business and information technology! If you'd like to go to the US next year, then come on over to Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (I live about an hour away.)Once you are accepted at CM in Qatar, you can just transfer and the whole process becomes very easy. Hey, we've solved your problem.

Pennstate is an ok uni. But go for it!

U of Pennsylvania is IVY and is amazing. If u can get in for any course you should be proud.

I applied to U of Illinois, though I doubt I'll get in, coz its too competitive!

Is that University of Pennsylvania or Penn State University? In all four cases these schools are HIGHLY competitive. You must have extremely good grades, extracurricular activities, references and excellent test scores, including SAT/ACT/TOEFL. I suspect their admissions will close early, but there's always a chance. You could call the admissions offices of each school. The one thing that the US has is lots of colleges and universities. Many of the state schools are very happy to take international students, especially when they pay their own way! I would suggest that you sit down with a guidance counselor and look at all your options, but quickly. You will be running out of time if you haven't taken your standarized tests. There will be a college or university for you, but it will take time and effort to find it. Meanwhile, have you thought about the American universities here? Even if you want to go to school in the States you could start here at one and transfer next year. They are set up so that all credits will transfer easily.

Yes, it will depend on the individual university. If you don't need financial aid many universities allow you to apply quite late. Where are you thinking of going?

Check Arizona University ( not Arizona State Uni. ) because last year the deadline was up to June for Fall semester enrollment..

If you are considering joining the Fall term then you are late for most of the Universities.. But still you can apply for the next semester which I believe is the Spring semester :)

It may not be too late. But you need to get your paper work in order now. Depending on which universities you are applying to will determine whether you are too late or not.

You must have your transcript information available which will have your(Grade Point Average) GPA

know the essay topics so you can submit an essay-depending where you are going to apply

any volunteer work containing hours worked and for what organization(s)

list of extra-curricular activities (sports; club memberships; etc.

Letters of recommendation

You need to get busy and figure which universities you are interested in and then find out what those schools require for admittance and proceed as directed.

...coz lots of students cancell their enrollment just before ... moreover, if you consider private univesities, rather than state universities, then, still there is chance...

depends on the program., usually you would see on their website -their calendar for such things., but for a non-us, you have to make necessary adjustments with time given the requirements needed.,
