yes i do work at the pearl. i just don't know if our call centre caters to the tenants of Sabban. Try and call them at 8006222. just don't tell them i gave you the number. ;-)

Hey Kiing... I think you r on wrong window .. you are in network and shares(Generally icon appears on your desktop itself)... which will show you the shared computers or files in your network.. wer as you need to be in network connections window in control panel.

=>Go to control panel: Start->Control panel

=>if you see few options then click on switch to classic view to expand all the options and then click on network connections .... and then follow the steps....if you get stuck some wer let me know.... hope this will help.

hello kiing!

if hardrock's advice don't work, you should contact the call center team or the maintenance team of Sabban tower. that is what we usually advise our tenants at the pearl because we have our own maintenance team who can do it. hush... hush....

You can try these steps(hoping you r using Windows)

1. connect your computer using a ethernet cable to ethernet port.if port is small for ethernet cable that means you have provision for internet and you have to contact qtel to get internet connection. if cable fits properly then

2. Go to command prompt: Start->Run->type cmd->click ok

3. you get DOS prompt: Type ipconfig and hit enter

4. Check if your ethernet adapter local area connection has IP address, subnet mask and default gateway.

=>if it returns network cable unplugged then ports are not enabled and you need to contact the building reception or network administrator to enable the port.

=>if it returns an ip but no gateway, check if you have static ip on your computer. for that go to network connections, right click on local area connection and click properties. select internet protocol and click properties.. see if it says obtain ip automatically, if not select that option and click ok all the way down and again do ipconfig on command prompt..you should have an ip now... check if internet works.

=>if it returns an ip then try ping google.com in DOS prompt.. you should get reply, any other result like request timed out or destination host unreachable...means router configuration is not proper... for tat call buildings network admin...

I hope this helps, if not let me know wat happend
