International Wire Transfer online - help
I set up my bank account thinking that because they had an online wire transfer feature I'd be able to easily transfer funds from my IBQ to my US bank account when I'm bank in the US. However when testing it out, I was asked for a Swift code, IBAN number and a national bank identifier, which my bank in the US does not have, they only have a routing number. I even spoke to the wire transfer dept at my US bank, they said that IBQ should use a corresponding bank in the US to first transfer the funds to then forward the funds onto my bank with my account and routing number. I talked to IBQ and told them this and they say they cannot do this online without this information or that maybe I have to do it in the branch. But obviously I can't do it when I am abroad in the US. I really don't want to have to take a ton of cash with me or have anyone else involved with this process. Has anyone been able to transfer funds this way or have any suggestions as to other ways to get my money between banks?!
What is the name of your US Bank? Do a google search on the name, include the words "Swift Code" and you should be able to get a Swift code for your bank (not necessarily your branch) then you include the ABA number or routing number, provide in the beneficiary details the name and bank/branch ID number for where your account is held when you do the transfer.
The information asked by IBQ is correct, and is required to do online transactions from Qatar. It is very easy to identify a bank's swift code, all you need to do is search online (Mr. Google can help).Alternatively, you can transfer money via Gulf Exchange, and it will take 2-3 working days for the money to be credited into the US account.PM me is you need specific help.Good luck!
You can get this done from UAE Exchange. not sure about big amounts but I am sure they can help you with that. They have a branch at city centre near to carrefour.
