Infra-red lights radar on Doha Corniche

New Traffic Radar is now started working with infra-red lights (without flash) on Corniche – so be careful.

I would say that the new radar cameras on the corniche are more or less the same as the rest in the country but with better camouflage.. One of these cameras on the corniche is so beautifuly camouflaged that you would mistake it for a street light. The mode of operation seems to be the same with a flash light and camera.

Where would i test-drive my "1979" nissan now with all the straight roads being monitored by radar cameras?

Sensors work with line of sight. One transmits and receives the laser signature. The stuff has to be calibrated and rigorously maintain. I would not chance it assuming it does not work. It is very accurate!

Why you ask? You got your first picture taken?

Jeez I speed everywhere now - never even notice the cameras!

Probably have a zillion fines.

Anyone know what the website address is where I can check?

Search facility on QL seems to have gone.

i just notice that there's new radar last week when they were still installin it and made it's extintions, cuz its on my way to work so i'm watchin every new touch the made but i've seen only the once on the oposite part of cornich if ur coming from the sheraton side, i don't know how to explain the exact place, but if ur coming from the souq area passing infront of HSBC and going to cornich u'll face a roundabout its standing between this roundabout and the next roundabout u can go there and check it out, and its not looks like the normal radars it looks more modern and hiden so u got to focus while u driving and whenevre u c any standing thing >> that's it

The Radars are in two places as they are the type that use the loop system - you pass one, it counts you in then when you pass the next one it calculates if you got there too quick - then bang they have clocked you speeding,

Locations - one on stretch between Sheraton Roundabout and the turn off for the business district there, second one around the fountain area on the grass.

I think they really need these type of radars on the straight roads eg - sports city road, or some of the 100km roads as people just break before the cameras that are there and are more likely to cause an accident.
