A tip I got for anyone who's being harrassed: never get scared! Always keep in mind that u're stronger than them and u can screw them over at any minute by a phone call,talking to security,etc. cause they're cowards.
Nope, I will print their numbers on flyers saying "call me - I am hot" or "call to ask whats the size of my hot pants" and distribute the flyers in the shopping malls!!
Its not so much of harrasments or in any way threatening - more like an annoyance. I do get phone calls on my work mobile number sometimes at the weekends and after working hours, and smses etc.. In my line of work, I have maintain these contacts, so it gets a bit difficult when the other person want more than being a professional contact.
I am going to have a new set of business cards printed , without my mobile.
most asian places, pakistan, india, bangladesh, its the same story and soemtimes its fun, to see a bunch of people chasing an offender, usually the police arrives at the scene to protect the offender.the victim has usually left for home by then and the whole situation calms down.

alhamdullilah never been in the situation in doha, but have been in the same in India. well in India, you can slap the guy, scream for attention, then the crowd does the rest. they all release their frsutration, no need for police and even when the police comes, everyone will be mum about it.its a very common scene.
here, i would just ignore and walk away, and if still persistant, start making calls on the mobile.call my hubby, then the police.

Living in Middle East for 12 years I just learn how to deal with them! just ignore them and if they insist then get your phone out then start dialing. If I have my husband nearby me I just start calling him, to let them know I have someone with me!

however if i am walking locally i really dress down. baggy clothes - that cover. then i can't be accused of sending out 'the wrong messages'

If you're feeling particularly mean you can write them and have them (phone numbers) written by the opposite gender in public toilets, etc.

For some reason I keep denting my car everytime. I don't recommend it as a way to deal with harrasment, it gets costly. :P
