I want to take a walk around the world.

Life as we know it is a series of events. Either you can believe they are predetermined for you or you make them up yourself as you go along.

Life actually isn't too short...a lifetime lasts well a lifetime. Life can be a long road ahead..traveling in a straight line without any purpose or destination.

How many of us are actually living the life we imagined for ourselves? Are we happy with what we have accomplished? Have all those books of studying given you the satisfaction of LIVING? Are we living or are we existing in a world where we are bound to everyday routine?

I want to live and experience everything in life at my own pace, I've suddenly got this feeling that I'm not cut out for a office job working 9 to 5...ok so i work 6.30 to 2.00 but still. I want to do something exciting with my life, even it it means going back to India. A lot of thoughts running through my head this morning. I'm not going to take any drastic decisions but just thought I'd share this moment with my friends here.

I want to take a walk around the world, so I may be tired enough to rest six feet under. :)

It's the Matrix. The movie Matrix has explain it well. in a different way of the world of technology. but if u think for a while you will know that the Matrix is our life, he was talking about LIFE. This is the Matrix.

Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us, even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window, or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work, or when you go to church, or when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

Neo: What truth?

Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else, you were born into bondage, born inside a prison that you cannot smell, taste, or touch. A prison for your mind.

Morpheus: The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

I suppose if its CLEAN toilet may be i could bring myself to use it :P

Khanan its not the same driving and shacking up in some hotel at the end of the day. I has to be that RAW adventure where you are out on your foot exploring the land and meeting the local people, eating cheap food etc etc :P

Looks like edifis has done a lot of these before. Good tips there thanks will keep it in mind...if there's one thing that holds me back from such trips is my fear of using public toilets for krapping. I can NEVER bring myself to do it unless its my own throne :(

2)Disposable toilet seats.

3)Coffe maker.

4)A Baseball/cricket bat (weapon)

5) A few change of clothes

6)Tissues & Towels.

7)Lots of underwear & Sox.

eddy your idea is something i've always wanted to do, starting with my own country, no hassle of visa's etc, just get on my bike and hit the open roads, sleep on the beach, shower/stay in cheap dingy hotels the works i tell you.

By edifis• 10 Apr 2011 11:59
edifis

OK Smoke do that but I assure you it won't be too expensive...

The Car rent & petrol we split 50-50.

Then We won't stay in star hotels...We will use the motels to freshen up and for emergency we will carry sleeping bags, lot's of undergarments, sox, instant food and other essential gear.

I have the GPS navigator.

And Visa charges aren't that much.

So it wouldn't be a lot of money spent.

But considering the current situation in Syria & Jordan, I think it is better to skip these two countries. So we start from Turkey.

Now how do you like the Plan?

By anonymous• 10 Apr 2011 11:41

Smoke,Of course if you are with somebody you have to consider that person's happiness which will surely affect what you want unless she wants the same. If you love her enough and you will follow what she wants bec.that will make her happy maybe it's as satisfying as doing what you want. If she loves you enough she'll understand & let you find your happiness, the problem is people are inclined to be selfish because of their fears as well. It takes a lot of courage to overcome our fears, that's the reason why doing what would make us happy is too damn hard to make but we should not loose ourselves in the long run smoke. She just have to understand in God's time that like her you have your dreams too.

Excellent Idea. I have a similar Plan too. And I was looking for a partner who would like to accompany me in this adventure. But instead of walking I would prefer to take a Rent a car from Avis or Hertz.

My original itinerary was:

Jeddah-Tabuk-Mann-Amman(Via Petra)-Ramtha Border-Damascus-Halab-Gaziantep-Konya-Ankara-Istanbul-Plovdiv-Sofia-Belgrade-Budapest.

At Budapest I deposit the rent-a-car and use the hydrofoil service to Vienna. Then by Train to Salzburg.

From there back to India by Flight.

Princess you have valid points but if we all were to think about only OUR happiness thing would be different. A single person thinking that way is possible, but what if a married couple were to think that way? If i do what makes me happy shouldn't my wife be equally allowed to do what makes her happy?

By anonymous• 10 Apr 2011 11:21

Smoke: Our needs and wants are evolving, we realize certain things as we go through. Why don't u follow what u want and stop kidding yourself that "what you chose to do is the right thing" though it makes the people you love happy. Will u really be happy & contented if all your life you're afraid to get out of your shell? There will always be things that we want but people can't understand why we want those things. We tend to become very fearful about the consequences of our choices which often leave us thinking if this is what we really want for ourselves.Unless you are brave enough to break some things there will always be that missing piece you'd want to find.

Fear is one of the most common reasons that people hold back on living the life of their dreams. I always put my happiness in my priority list with consideration of course. I do believe that everything will fall into place at the right time. Living the life i want isnt easy esp.if it's affecting those I love, it's too hard to decide between what I want & what they want for me,but I believe that I should be brave enough to follow what I want & decide for myself. I can't be good to anyone unless I'm happy & Loving my life.

Qhris funny part is no one is holding me back but myself, like I said, I'm a person that needs to wake up one morning WANTING to change or else nothing or no one can change me.

But you all are right..i have nothing to lose at this point in time, there's a long road ahead and its time to get up and start my walk :)

By anonymous• 10 Apr 2011 10:49

anyone telling you not to do it is bound by their own fear, which is what was holding you back.

You have released it.

But it still controls them.

Tinker the steps that i've taken HAVE been negative towards the people i love and now i'm having second thoughts and want to make things right.

But this is not only about that...this is about in general have WE been true to ourselves and are WE doing all we can to live the life we want.

Thanks TB, you are never to old to do anything but the matter is are we BOLD enough to do it?

I'm a person who is afraid of change, i need a shove to try something new. I have the desire at times but not the proper motivation to do it. I get comfortable in my zone and then its hard to let go.

Know what i'm talking about?
