I need help!

Hi QL'ers,
Ok I'll start off by going straight to the point because its sort of an urgent thing! I was wondering if people here can help me out by telling me how to write a good essay for College. Well it's more a project than an essay....a Personal Interest Project to be exact. Well the thing is I can't seem to find the words to write anything! I know it sounds like a very general thing to say but it's just that I get overwhelmed everytime I skim through the instruction sheet presented to me that I'm supposed to be following and I'm already 2 weeks behind the deadline which depresses me even further. I've never written an essay before let alone a project of this scale. I don't know if I'm making sense but I'm really frustrated and I would appreciate it if people here can give me some helpful sdvice or suggestions on how to overcome my insecurities towards writing and other useful tips on writing.

Primary research is any type of research that you go out and collect yourself.

A primary source is an original object or document -- the raw material or first-hand information.

Primary sources include historical and legal documents, eye witness accounts, results of an experiment, statistical data, pieces of creative writing, and art objects.

Secondary research occurs when a project requires a summary or collection of existing data. As opposed to data collected directly from respondents or "research subjects" for the express purposes of a project,

A secondary source is something written about a primary source. Secondary sources include comments on, interpretations of, or discussions about the original material. You can think of secondary sources as second-hand information. If I tell you something, I am the primary source. If you tell someone else what I told you, you are the secondard source. Secondary source materials can be articles in newspapers or popular magazines, book or movie reviews, or articles found in scholarly journals that evaluate or criticize someone else's original research.

I hope this helps!

The chosen topic is about music which is very generic I know! Im supposed to write about how it influences us nowadays and how much of a driving force it can be in many people's lives either consciously or subcosciously. Ok something else I wanna ask......what's the difference between a primary reaserch methodology and a secondary one? more importantly, what IS a methodology?!

Hypothesis is an idea or a notion that's need to be proven to be a fact. That's why you need to make a research by means of interview thus you are required to make a questionaire.

randr88, gypsy is right. You can't write the essay for bjesus because it's not right. You are not helphing him learn. You can guide him and edit his works but write it for him would be considered as "cheating".

We know you meant well for your friend, but it would be wiser if you just help him thru the process and move on from there.

But it's not! I'm supposed to write a hyposthesis on my proposed topic and I dont even know what a hyothesis looks like! I'm supposed to write no less than 1500 words whilst being objective which is a very hard thing to do considering that I've never written an essay before. I'm supposed to conduct interviews and create questionnaires related to my topic and that in itself is enough to dicourage me from wiritng. I just feel defeated. I mean I'm just clueless on what to do. I dont know how to write an introduction or a body or a conclusion so it's all just one big blur to me. LOL sorry if I sound pissed but I'm just very cycnical right now!

Have a read through these, they should give you an idea where to start.

I'll just say the 1st thing to do is brainstorm all your ideas and write them down. Then these links should show you how to go about it

What's the subject of the essay? The usual way to write one is to start with an Introduction stating what the question is and what you will attempt to prove, followed by the body, which is where you state the evidence that you've found, followed by the Conclusion where you re state what you found and what you think.

Don't worry about writing style, just check your grammer and make sure you've put down everything you can to prove your point. :)
