how to further education in qatar if.....

I've been informed some time ago that qatar is not accepting online qualifications anymore. They saud people to have degrees that are done on campus.. But how is a working person suppose to work and finish their degree if the are no night schools here. And many universities do not offer a wide range if courses.
For example i work as a librarian. I only have a high school diploma. I want to study socialogy but its not even offered in this country. So studying only with an accredited university is my only option but this country will not recognize it even my country will.
Is qatar even n going to change this rule?
What are your thoughts on this issue?
I agree, UK. They have a positron accelerator and a physics department but NOT A SINGLE student!! How to fill the empty buildings, is the question. It reminds me again of the Arab Games! Obviously the intentions of the government have not reached the people of Qatar.
LP I think Qatar Foundation which is spending so much money advertising to get noticed should actually spend some money on the actual Education itself rather than all those over the top buildings in Education city.
@ fluffy...what is your source.... where does it say online qualifications not being accepted??
To sum it up: the education system in Qatar is a failure.
getting your degree evaluated from the Foreign and Commonwealth office won't help. This seems to be a requirement that was recently introduced.
More than likely the school where you have your degree from will need to provide a certificate that NONE of your courses were online. (a friend of mine was asked to do that - and her degree is over 10 years old).
There is no adult education here in Qatar and even a few course that do enroll mature students are not open to expats.
I wish Qatar Foundation really live up to their logo "Achieve your full potential" by offering adult education to any one who wants to study for an accredit degree course.
there is a way around this. It all depends on which nationality you are an where your degree is issue.
For example if you are from the UK you can send your degree to the Foreign and Commonwealth office to be legalised, if it is from a UK university this should be no problem. Once it has been legalised it is sent to the Qatari Embassy to be Attested. Once this is done your degree should be ok.
This does depend on whether your degree is seen as a valid one and where you get it legalised from.
Hope this helps you.
