Hey to all you Keralites out there. My two friends and I are looking to go to Kerala for Eid and we would like a suggestion for a nice hotel/resort, something with a spa and a beach would be perfect. Any suggestions?
Exactly what I was thinking, but then again, maybe she has a sked to keepand be back here at work or watever... but Xena, you havta try and make it at least a week in Goa and visit the north and south as well... truely awesome, exactly like Rio .... and as they say... VIVA GOA!
I'm sure you'll like it there, although 2 days is too short a time in Goa. But nonetheless, explore in as much as you can coz it's kinda cheap and beautiful.
I've never been to Kerala but do recall a Keralite friend of mine recommending "Kumarakom" as one of the most famous backwater destinations in Kerala.

I believe this website allows you to book tour packages without going to another site. Alternatively, if you do know the name of the hotel you prefer to stay at, it is always a good idea to mail them directly and ask for special discount on top of online offers available. If any of your friend is a cabin crew or works for an airline, you would invariably get best packages when you talk to them direct.
Whatever happened to Xena's plan to visit India? Wasn't she planning a trip around the same time?
I'm pretty sure you have already trawled the net, but soon after I got to Doha I googled Kerala myself. This looked pretty informative (lots to look at anyway!):
I am not Keralite but had been there for holidays 3 years ago. Regarding massage and spa, the star hotels are definitely the best. Ayurvedic Panchkarma Massage is truly the experience beyond words.
Try lovely house boats in Allapuzza or Alleppi. In Periyaar live in forest hotel near the Periyar lake or the one on the nearby island. But book it as soon as possible as it is very difficult to get the booking.
Although I'm not Keralite, I did stay at the Leela Kovalam Beach Hotel in Trivandrum ([email protected]) on one of my duty trips and it was amazing... it's an awesome property and has a beach below... massages are good there too... try staying a couple of days on the house boats, its a different experience altogether... hope you enjoy your stay down there in India...

2 days in Goa, and a night in Aleppy on a luxury houseboat...
Ensure you do a Goa when in India... it's nice at that time of the year...
The trip is happening in Jaunary though... 4th - 11th...
