Well, yes, the thunder follows the lightning. Okay excuse me, I love the lightning FLASHING and the thunder CRASHING,is that better :-) And it's literally all around. The A/C unit on our house was struck. Talk about LOUDDDDD!
We do that in Arizona, too, during the summer rainstorms...open the garage door, pull up a lawn chair and just sit and watch the rain. Sounds weird to folks who live in places where rain isn't so rare, I know.
