Hi anyone.

Today the IT put a password for my laptop per my request. It was in english.

Now that I am at home I cannot log on as the log on window "windows" are in arabic. or the characters are in arabic and I cannot log on.

How do I change the language to english so that I can log on.

Please help, anyone.

Thanks

All you have to do is to ask them to make sure that the default language is English. I know about this and it is a problem with windows [in addition to millions of problems] and sometimes, even if you do this you would still get the annoying language interface showing you that the default is Arabic. Now if you want to switch between the languages you can also open for example 'MS Word' and then click down there on the desired language to use it.

Sorry guys, but I was really serious about it :).

LOL, but they all got the same concept, from English to any secondary language the same concept :).

Seriously dude, sometimes even the interface can also get changed into Arabic if they install the 'Arabic Language Interface'. It would enable you to change the whole interface and switch between Arabic & English Interfaces.

Still nice to see you here after a long time dweller :)

While logged on, if arabic comes on I just have to press ctrl and shift and it is in english. I had tried that to log on but on the bottom it still showed AR.

Shall fire the IT guys for turning off their cells. (not really, but give them a good sounding of.)

Thanks

At any time man, glad that you were able to login. Did the IT guys there in your company change the language settings or even the interface? I mean after you logged in do you see the menus and everything in Arabic or in English? If you have it in Arabic still I can also help, just let me know.

Best Regards

Thank you all,

Dweller, I could not log on to the laptop, since any character I typed, turned up in arabic. I tried typing in the english user name and password keys, and it was not accepted.

Thanks KE. I did that and I was able to log on.

Thanks once again everyone.

Hey man, no need to panic. All you have to do is, can you see the 'Alt' and 'Shift' on both of your keyboard sides? There are 2 on the left and 2 on the right. If you can see them that is nice. Can you see also the 'Ctrl' button too? There are 2 of them ... no depending on your laptop you have to do the following.

Press the 'Alt' button then while you keep pressing on it, press the 'Shift' button too. You are doing good, that is it.

1- Switch from Arabic To English [Press 'Alt'+'Shift' on left side of your keyboard]

2- Switch from English To Arabic [Press 'Alt'+'Shift' on right side of your keyboard]

3- sometimes the combination might be different, so do the same thing while you replace the 'Alt' button with 'Ctrl' in other words:

Switch from Arabic To English [Press 'Ctrl'+'Shift' on left side of your keyboard]

Switch from English To Arabic [Press 'Ctrl'+'Shift' on right side of your keyboard]

Good luck my friend.

Try identifying the control panel by the icons and try changing the regional language settings.......
