Ahhh facebook. What a little monopoly they have. :p

By tallg• 3 Jun 2009 09:22

I noticed that.

You'll have to do what everyone does when facebook changes the layout - create a group entitled something along the line of 'I think facebook are a bunch of dickheads for changing my default language to Arabic without asking me'

Did you write the complaint in Arabic ?

By MikaylasMom• 3 Jun 2009 09:13
MikaylasMom

Happened to me and my husband last night and he was pissed that they just took it upon themselves to change everything to Arabic.

I made a mistake in my list of steps - it should be '1st link down', not 2nd.

Probably better to try the other way I suggested in the comment above.

Yes, I'm going to learn to read Arabic in 5 minutes so I can find the language tool.

By tallg• 3 Jun 2009 08:22

If my steps above don't work, I notice that at the bottom of the page there's a link that brings up a language selection tool. It's the link right next to the Copyright 2009 text, right at the bottom of the page.

Use google language tools:

http://www.google.com.qa/language_tools?hl=en

to understand where the language option might be......there is also an easier option....learn arabic.....lol

I'm actually going to write a HUGE complaint to them when I get my language back to English.

By tallg• 3 Jun 2009 08:16

I can't believe a web site would be so stupid just to change everyone's language to Arabic, just because you're accessing it from an Arab country. Truly ridiculous.

If yours is stuck in Arabic, try the following;

- Hover over the 2nd link along from the Search Box at the top of the page

- Click the second link down that appears

- Click the 5th tab along

- Select English from the drop down box

(I'm guessing if it's in arabic the '2nd link along' and '5th tab along' could be from the right instead of from the left)

By Gypsy• 3 Jun 2009 08:14
Gypsy

Yes they gave me that, but when I clicked it the page crashed and when I logged back in it was in Arabic and the box was gone.

By tallg• 3 Jun 2009 08:12
tallg

They did the same to me, but at the top of the page there was a box explaining that they'd changed my language for me, with a drop down box to change it back.
