At London airport, the Amex Exchange clerk told me: only for American dollars, we will not exchange them for pounds or Euros.

Television is just for advertising everything, including people.

If you could choose one characteristic that would get you through life, choose a sense of humour.

ALL Big Brother stars??? Like who? I can't think of one thats an actor! Shilpa Shatty was an actress before big Brother, I don't think Bollywood stars are there for their acting prowess....

No, they don't have exclusive rights to this section of community. The examples I gave in the thread are from the UK..

To be honest, I despair of reality shows like Big Brother. Obviously, morons are picked to enhance the ratings. They want their 15 minutes of fame and act idiotically , whilst many of the audience / viwers assume that this the norm in society..

It seems that we like to glorify stupidity..

Lol. You made me laugh. Many thanks. Unfortunately this is the state of affairs nowadays. Like you said, they are making role models out of morons. And we don't have anything to stop them. See how they glamourise morons in that Big Brother show. It's gonna get worse. Some societies are already damaged. It's a shame we know it but can't do much to change it.

Btw..remember one of our ministers of education who could not get 7x9 right on a live tv interview? Oh dear. That was a disgrace!

But what do you expect? Television has become exclusively for entertainment and unfortunately most people don't consider education to be entertaining. The same is happening with books now. Go into a book store (assuming you can find one in Qatar) and ask them what are their newest books are...you'll probably get something like "Skiing for Morons", "Idiots Guide to Politics", "Basic Sociology for the Neanderthal" and "Cosmo's 2009 Bedside Astronomer".

I agree with you.. The so called "reality" shows are damaging society and making role models out of morons..

Reply: "We used a home pregnancy test"

Interviewer "And what was the result?"
