LAS VEGAS - Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines retained his WBO welterweight title by recording a majority decision over Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday.
The 32-year-old southpaw was tested to the full by his older opponent over the 12 rounds but his superior foot and hand speed made the difference as he improved his career record to 54-3-2 with 38 knockouts.
MANILA — The Philippines came to a standstill, held its breath, then exploded in celebration on Sunday as boxing hero Manny Pacquiao was announced as the winner of his bout with Mexico’s Juan Manuel Marquez.

boxing is a gentleman's real sport... not like other fights wherein body contacts are more on wrapping their legs around their opponents :D

My opinion, this Manny victory was sheer luck...narrow escape... 12 rounds of brutal mayhem !!
The result could have gone either way...probably went in Manny's favor, as Marquez kept landing punches on the backfoot... i don't see any other reason... Manny had to endure much punishment from Marquez though...
