Hamad Women Hospital Emergency

I am recovering from a misscarriage. Its been 2 weeks. I don't know what went wrong with me or was there any chance or way to make my pregnancy save. But it happend and i want to share one bad experience with Qlers.

On 17 th February it happend. That day i started bleeding on high amount. I went to private clinic and the doctor there sent me to hamad women's emergency. I went to Hamad and the nurse checked me and asked me to wait. And i waited 3 hours in the waiting room!!! In this type of critical situation i was supposed to lay down on bed keeping my legs upward and get immediate medical help. But they kept me waiting saying that "you are not bleeding too much". I requested several times to see the doctor as quickly as possible. That 3 hours so many thoughts were running in my mind and i got scared thinking that if my pregnancy is still safe or not.

The nurse told me while waiting that on that day they have only 2 doctors in emergency and minimum 15 murses. But outside more than 15 patients were waiting to see that 2 doctors. The doctors were seeing patient on the basis of how much the case is urgent or serious. But what about me? Is my pregnancy problem not serious? What kind of emergency is that where only 2 doctors are on duty where outside many patients are waiting?

Finally the doctor saw me after 3 hours and got altra report. By that time it was all over. I lost the baby. I cried infront of doctor.

I don't know if the baby could be saved or not, but 3 hours waiting in that situation had must loose the chance if there was any!!!

Nurses should apply what they learn in school, like TRIAGE. It's very helpful in emergency cases. but when you said a nurse was more worried about what would happen to them if they give priority to expats than locals, that's a different story.

:-(

I think they give first priority to the ambulated patients and you were supposed to get the assistance from 999, where you will be treated immediately.

The word emergency is not for everyone and have less meaning here, hope they will see this uprising problem in hamad,A friend of mine experience it too. The only thing we can do is to wait and hope to be entertain less than 3 hours. Sorry for your loss ana.

Hello Sis..few things are not in our hand infact most of the things are not in our hand. It was mere destiny. It was upon the decision of God (ALLAH) which no one can change neither alter. So always remember "when what is to be happen will happen and when what is not to be happen will never happen" even if whole world makes it to happen or not happen. Have patience and try for another one. Console your beloved husband and family and give us good news of another baby.

everyone for your comments. This was my first time experience. I am now scared to go to emergency again.

@ HMS....yes no body cares or bothers. But they do care whenever a qatari woman is coming by land cruiser and treating her immediately!!

A asked a nurse about this and her reply was,

" if i give you priority than a qatari then next day it will be on newspaper. What will happen then?"

an na.I am sorry about your miscarriage..I have been through it myself 3 times..2 of them far worse than you can imagine...

But let me tell you something I learnt from my experiences...If you are going to have a miscarriage there is nothing much the doctors can do except empathise and offer the consolation and supportive care.. If you are bleeding heavily they do a D&C and put you in a less life threatening situation. You need not miscarry the next time or any other time..Most of the reasons can be traced and precautions taken beforehand..But remember that as per statistics, a very high percentage of pregnancies end in miscarriage..

Put a name for your baby.Remember its "date of birth". Do something good in the babies name like lighting candles in the church, giving food, money or time for someone who needs it. Talk about the pain to your close ones.

There is always hope in tomorrow, day after night, light after darkness...Keep believing. Grieve for some time without hiding your feelings. And face the world and life bravely, as the best is yet to come.

God bless you...and your partner, who might be feeling as bad as you.....

Same as what happen with my sister-in-law, that was 4 years ago. she's 3 months pregnant that time when a sad thing happen she felt some pain and started to bleed and continous bleeding. Her husband send her to Hamad woman emergency you know what the nurse told her is just sit down and they let her waited for so many hours and her husband's waiting outside seeing the condition of his wife and made him mad 'coz nobody's checking her. Until they saw under the chair of my sister-in-law full of blood dropping down then that's what makes the nurses move quickly and assist my sister-in-law.. So sad same as you she lost her blessing from GOD... But what can she do, instead she never loose hope and praying another blessing will come and now she's happy with her 3 year old boy..

I can't blame you for what happen, just move on and stop thinking about your lost, you'll never know maybe but next month you'll receive some news of having a bundle of joy again...

very sorry to hear your case, here in this part of world, no humanity and everything is mechanical, nobody bothers and cares about others, they should have more doctors and should have attended you immediately.

an na, I am so very sorry to read about this. May God give you the strength to get over your loss . I hope you will, in the future, have many healthy children. Stay strong :)

And don't even get me started on this " women's emergency" place. :(
