Hair highlights and cutting

Can anyone recommend a fantastic hairstylist  who can do a professional hair cut and highlights. I know I am asking the impossible in Doha - having lived here for 10 years I know really good hairdressers are few and far between. The expense is not really an issue, but the quality and professionalsim of the hairstylist is, so if anyone can either personally recommend someone or knows of anyone I would really appreciate it. Thanks is advance.

Not any Lebanese or philipinos know how to handle blonde hair here in Qatar. It is not their fauld, they just are not used to that and dammage hair very easy and they cut it not good eather - it looks like cuted with a knife... The experians and the training is nessesary fordifferant hair, aspcially nort european and scandinavian hair. If you still didn't find a good hairdresser her in Doha and you want to have your hair cuted as back at home or even better pls contact me on uosta/-a-t-/hotmail.com I will happy to help you. Nora

I had a bad experience at the Diplomatic Club and decided to try GLOW.  I have gone three times since then and have not been disappointed yet.  I also took my teenage daughter who has long, blond, very thick hair.  Hilary and her staff did a great job with the highlights and the cut.   I have recommended Glow to several friends, all who have been satisfied.  Hilary takes the time to listen to what you want and explain options.  She also does not rush through the job.  Glow offers mani's and pedi's too as well as waxing and other services.  Check it out - I think you will like it.

made a right mess of my hair. She was too busy trying to talk to her mates that visited her at her saloon and bossing the gils who work there around, the last thiing she wamted to do was be interested in what I had to say about what I wanted. She frankly did her own thing and on my friend  too who came with me to get her hair done. We had identical hair cuts!!  None of my friends and collegues that have been there have been very impressed with her manner and style of running a saloon. Think you either love her or loathe her style. Must admit  this was years ago, maybe she has been on some professionalism courses since then!

I went to Marie Clare on Salwa Road, really impressed as I was very daring and went from natural long black hair to Victoria Beckham style blonde, it could have been really nasty as it was the first time I had been there. Looked fab!!Well, I thought it did anyway lol

I've never been satisfied with my hair do in Doha and am always looking for some new fantastic salon to try.

I have such long fine fair hair that the hairdressers don't know what to do with  it.....they hack into it and I'm left with noithing :(

Has anyone with blonde hair been satisfied with the colour in any of the salons?

I'm blond and i'm doing highlights...and curly hair... this "set" is really a problem in Doha.. Dry hair from sun and water plus chemicals in salon and the "professional hands". I was an often visitor of Four Seasons, and this was the one place which " added to me", the result was perfect. the last time when i came there I knew that the old stuff was chaged.. and went for new... His name is Fadi, it was very nice haircut and GREAT blow dry..

La Femme... I was often there.... I cannot say anything about Matilda, she done for me blow dry, and as I 'm coming often I was observing (like a spy) what they are doing there... and the one person I can advise ( if it's possible) is Betty, she is blondie Romanian.. so in this you can trust her...

Glow.... I was there few days back and I talked to Hilary, she is professional, no doubt.. but the one more plus to her that she is more "fresh" comparing to others. And she has a "look" after which she can offer you options..

Up to you.. but i was in these places and the main thing is to explain them what you would like to have and then to listen what they are offering you due to your hair type and your style. i would tell that these options above will really help you..

Good luck!

I only have three hairs myself and all of them are straight, but I did know the cut I like and it did help me to get the job done.

I hate to leave the hairdresser and be dissatisfied with the results after having to pay for them.

I went once in Dubai and got my hair cut short and came out looking as if I had had a crew cut, the next day I got my Dubai driving license and had a photo made for it, I can't begin to tell you how mad I was. lol lol lol

Alicat - let me know when you found one ;-)

Did you ever try Glow? I only need a haircut, so it might be easier...tried the one in Four Seasons but was not convinced... she did not even look at my hair when it was dry, so how will she find out how to handle it then?

Thanks for the links - have already called Glow, but at they don't have anyone at the moment who can do Highlights - a shame as I had been recommended Hillary there.

been there before and was not too impressed maybe I just got a trainee....... But thanks for your quick reply. I have heard there are good hairstylists at The Four Seasons and some of the other Hotel Spas.

My major issue is that I have very fine hair and many stylists here in Doha are used to working with people with thick hair. I know each hair type needs to be treated very differently.
