I came back from France today. I saw a report on the national t v where they sent undercover reporters with hidden cameras to discover shocking things.

Chinese products are killers.

They put cement, i repeat C E M E N T, in their production of some medicines/tablets...!!!

They use toxic paints on their sofa which burns the skin..!!

Their electric sockets are dangerous and explodes....!!!

Beware of makes such as MK and Legrand which are made in China...

I was gobsmacked...could not believe my eyes...

I will be more careful from now on....

Ha Ha !!! This is so funny. So some people think that if it is 'Made in USA' sticker it is really made in USA or for that matter 'Made in - any country label'. If you go checking, the products are usually assembled there or 'quality checked' in that place. Almost all the products including electronics and construction material are made in China. They may be certified some where else. Don't believe me - go to China and see the industries or better ask the suppliers.

It is not only some Chinese manufactures that are cutting cost, increasing profits on the back of the customers by putting wrong/harmful ingredients in their products. Many companies seem to do it. All over the world. In Europe was this scandal cos Mozarella made by Galbani was made with waste/out of date/gone bad ingredients. It was just mixed in with the good stuff. And this is a brand well known with a good reputation, and in a country where they have strict rules & inspections.

hmmm...i wonder what they put in dimsums and dumplings...toilet papers as wrappers? :P

Not all products coming from china should be banned. there are international company who are strict with standards use china because of the cheap labor, and the quality stays the same. Raw materials are shipped to china and all they do is put the pieces together. I am not chinese, but look around and tell me which product you see nowadays did not came from China?

It's not because things are difficult that we don't dare, it's because we don't dare that makes things difficult!

i think this is just Europe trying to scare people because they are losing ground to Chinese products.

Poverty is not for the sake of hardship. No, it is there because nothing exists but God. Poverty unlocks the door -- what a blessed key!

why you guys speak only about chinese low quality products. You say: they put poison in the food....

But did you check the products from other countries? Did you ever think what you eat every day? Look at the lables: E234, E344, E***, E***...preservatives, etc... It is not a food any more. Do you know how many fruits, vegetables and other things now are geneticaly modified... That is why it is so hard now to find a really healthy person. People poison themselves, and trust me not only chinese...

Not only that my friend, now in philippines milk products that are all made in china are now banned in our country why? because it contains MELAMINE...You read it right! MELAMINE a chemical used to make plastic items.Imagine, this chemical be added in the milk & be consumed by our body especially babies & kids who loved to eat & drink milk & chocolate products.Beware of CHINA PRODUCTS!!!!

Perhaps I "SHOULD" have said: The people who are adding the poisons to their own food supplies don't care. Does that make it more clear now? I guess I'll have to be VERY CLEAR and CAREFUL with my words from now on, since many here are not native English speakers / writers. My apologies!

I mean, really. I am only 41 but as long as I can remember, China has had a reputation for cheap, shoddy exports. Also, all this stuff about food is only just coming to light, who knows how long it has been going on? They are always doing stuff like this, which is why I try to avoid Chinese junk as much as I can. That's the first thing I look for when buying something is "where was it made".

BiggFreez QT, what makes you think they don't care? isn't the government trying to solve the problem? aren't the courts punishing the criminals? or aren't the hospitals trying to save the babies? where are these people from then, if not Chinese, are they your nationals?

boycotting is not just typing in this cyber world, plus you don't have to tell everyone to prove that you ARE boycotting.

The Chinese are killing their OWN citizens and don't even care! Melamine in baby milk? Melamine in Cadbury chocolates? Cement in medicines? all to make a few extra dollars? These people are a sorry excuse for human beings. It's time we ALL boycotted all Chinese products!

good to hear that...I am glad i live in a country where the government can afford to demand those standards.

they are obviously exporting all their rubbish building materials to Africa where they can't afford to check..or flogging it in their own country.

I have a Chinese friend here in Doha who told me that because she is Chinese, all the products she imports into Qatar have to have high quality standards, i.e. Iso certified. She explained that other companies that import Chinese stuff and do not have Chinese management, are not subject to these regulations. This is a regulation from the Chinese government! (she is into building materials)I do not know if this applies to all sectors of manufactering.

I will venture to say that Chinese products are getting better with time. It was worse before. And some Chinese products are really good now. Take for example Lenovo which has bettered the quality of IBM. So I beg to differ here, not all Chinese products are bad. I think there are more manufacturing companies in China than the population of Qatar, and they are comparatively new in this field. So I think it is not correct to judge the entire production of China based on the recent tarnished image, thanks to some crooks who spoilt the milk.

some of the products made in China do have quality problems, everyone knows.

but oh, u saw this in France? uh not being offensive, but French media has not been so amiable towards China.
