Gulf without Kerala
A Gulf without Keralites could soon be a reality
For those reading this article in the Gulf region, conduct this little exercise – take a quick look around you and count the number of Keralites you spot.
Gulf nations may soon see less of the ubiquitous Keralite (a.k.a. Malyali due to the language connection) as the migration trend of Keralites from their native town to Gulf nations seems to be peaking,
The principal countries of destination of Kerala emigrants have remained more or less unchanged over these years, with 90 per cent of the Kerala emigrants going to one or other of the Gulf countries.
While it will be tough to not find a Keralite within any given square kilometre in the Gulf region (no, uninhabited desert doesn’t count!), the survey points out that the growth in number of migrants from Kerala is declining

we will have a coconut oil free zone :o)
check out the number of lulu outlets in gulf countries and the rush in all of them so gulf without lulu or kerala is like gulf without oil
So why do you think theer are less Keralites ?
Asians LOL
Actually this is true... most of the new guys and even girls at the malls are from nepal...
You have to look closer and watch for their accent.
Most people think that the girls are filipinos and the guys Indian or Filipino... but only an Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi or Srilankan can make out the difference...
The girls are difficult to tell cause the resemblence to Filipino is more... same build, same height, same long straight hair...etc
lot of Nepal manpower coming in... It would be fair to say Nepal has replaced Kerala as the manpower export of the world.
I think it would be good for their country... with the foreign exchange coming in...
Vicky Kapur's article is full of ifs, buts and sillyness..
"Now, try to imagine your surroundings (workplace, grocery store, the Metro, etc.) void of all Keralites. Impossible? That’s what we thought, but a new survey begs to differ." - a near impossibility.
According to the latest iteration of the Gulf Migration Survey, the number of Keralites in the UAE has declined about 4 per cent in five years – from 918,122 in 2008 down to 883,313 in 2011. This decline is in sharp contrast to the 37 per cent growth that UAE saw in migrants from Kerala in the preceding five-year period – from 670,150 in 2003 to 918,122 in 2008 - Could this be due to the fact that Dubai's economy took a nosedive and many people had to leave..
Well and now to read what the people in the UAE have to say on this topic read the comments at the below site. Some of the comments have been hidden by the editors as they dont seem to be very favourable with the readers

Good news...
My relatives from Kerala, and people known to us, over here and around the Gulf are quite happy in ME. The youngsters keep coming here and when they get married move their families here too.And many of them, for a multitude of reasons, will be happy to live and die in the Gulf, so I guess there is no chance the Gulf will ever be completely without any Keralites.
So is kerala not going to join the GCC. If they did then they could come and go as they please or maybe the love has gone from the strange one sided relationship
Before Gulf there was Ceylon. Before Ceylon there was Burma.
Will Asin be there ? She is a Goldmine ..
They earn more in their home state than in the Gulf. It was in the news paper yesterday.

To those my anti Keralite friends with due respect....(I know they have their own reason to stand against a Keralite, leaving apart the JEALOUS part). Please ensure you ARE utilizing the gap generated...fill with your own fellow state people rather whining all way around like above posts. GOOD LUCK..
