I agree that all private clinics are run to make profits. But health concerns are a social issue. So the clinics are bound to be sensitive to the needs of the patient, besides making money. By the way, most of the insurance companies are made to pay for patients, by overprescribing medicines in case of insured patients, by such clinics. Is the Medical ethics committe listening ?

As Victor Bhatt says, Why dont you report ur case to the management of Apollo ? they might look into ur case and decide whether its a fit case of discrimination.

Also you can report the case to the National Health Authority near Hamad hospital. They are in charge of issuing licence for private clinics.

I am very sure that nationality is nothing to do with your issue.

All private hospital running in Qatar more purely commercial basis; if they refuse a particular nationality mean they are racist, who could not run a profitable institution like this (Apollo Hospital?)

I strongly suggest you to please refer your matter to authorised people in the hospital rather spoiling the reputation/goodwill of a hospital by explaining your case in this forum.

No more guesses, resolve the issue with effective communication and obtain clarification from authorities.

i think we should start a thread and share experiences that we have faced due to our nationalities and have a laugh :)

I asked for ENT who was on leave, then receptionist asked GP by phone.

Initially doctor’s reply was yes, which she told me too, then she took my card, she made the copy of it, she was ready to fill the form.

After asking my nationality suddenly she picked up the phone again to tell the Dr.

HERE COMES THE PROBLEM.....

When she told him about my nationality receptionist gave my card back.

My reaction: I laughed and said to receptionist, after knowing my nationality he refuse to see me.

Receptionist: no no you have to see ENT.

I asked so you can not do any thing?

Her reply was NO.

So where is the misunderstanding?

Any way I am much much better now, Many Millions Thanks again to all QLs for sharing there thoughts which really helped me to relax mentally.

I don’t want to harm any one, as above mentioned by many QLs got good treatment from there too.

May be I was at wrong place at wrong time.

Its very strange that it happened to u MAFZAL..I too have a health card given by my company and i normally go to APOLLO for check up..I found everyone supportive, coperative and helpful..Y dont u report it to the main authotiry of that CLINIC????That would be more sound..

Apollo is one of the third class clinics in Qatar. There service is very bad even. I once was in queue there and people started jumping coz some one know some on in reception counter. Simply third class clinic. Why do you bother to go there.

Try visiting Hassan AlAbdulla Medical Center on D-Ring Road near Lulu Hyper. You will love it. And yes do see Dr. Hassan only as he is the best.

Why don't you write an email to Gulf Times' Editor. People who think they would not be entertained in Apollo, would avoid going there.

I use to go there before, but from now no more to them.
