The Great Zebra Cross Challenge

I just had an idea!
You know how the traffic department is going strict and enforcing new laws to help us right?

Well one thing that annoys me is when my fellow Qataris don't stop at zebra crossings. (Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one that does).

SO, what if we all took a video of us trying to cross the zebra crossing then send it off to them?

(they'll have to be stricter with this evidence OR at least put traffic lights or overpasses!)

not sure if that was sarcasm, but there is a different between crossing lights and traffic lights. (one only activates if there are pedestrians)

I'll try to cross it! I just thought a 'collage' of more videos would be better.

The great Zebra Crossings Africa style.

I was thinking more of Africa. When the animals migrate and have to negotiate in numbers the rivers and creeks full of crocodiles and predators waiting in ambush and cover.

In this case the humans are the prey and the predators are the speeding cars....

Oh yeah, those white stripes drawn in the ground between the corners of the streets.

When a religion is good, I conceive it will support itself; and when it does not support itself, and God does not take care to support it so that its professors are obliged to call for help of the civil power, 'tis a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad

Well perhaps it would be ideal to have flashing beacons at each side of the street where the "Zebra Crossing" is. The other thing is I very much doubt that anyone in this part of the world has ever been taught exactly what a "Zebra Crossing" is, judging by the quality of the driving instructors, who themselves don't even tell their students to use an indicator when changing lanes. Then tell me please how on earth a Qatari driving 100kms on and 80 kms road in the morning would ever manage to stop suddenly at a "Zebra Crossing". Instant death is programmed. (not only Qataris).

I personally would take all the driving instuctors licenses away and let them do a complete new course on road manners not to mention the rules of the highway code.

I drive down the AL Waab Road every morning and meet up with the same two (four wheel drive) drivers, who are flashing and whooping their horns for other cars to move over and let them pass, although at that particular point no there is no space.

Anyway to be able to stop at a "Zebra Crossing" the general speed in Qatar would have to be reduced to driving at 50 kms p.h. who will do that. Oldies but goldies I presume!!! lol
